Stuttering sound in games

Stuttering sound in games
Specifically the Guild II, but I guess this could hold true for other games, as well. I've got an SB Audigy card. My RAM in 1 GB. I've turned down sound acceleration all the way, but it's made no difference. Any other ideas that might help?

That's strange. The stuttering sound will only occur if I slide the sound acceleration all the way to no acceleration (this happened to me when I played Hitman: Blood Money). Have you tried updating your audio drivers to see if it helps alleviate the problem?

Believe it or not, I think the driver may have been the problem. I've of course kept on top of updating my video driver, but I've let the driver for my audio card slip over time. Completely updated, with full acceleration, it worked much better--not perfectly, but shows a considerable improvement. Thanks.
