Henchman using potions

Post by Stilgar »

My henchmen keep drinking potions of healing out of their own.
I have "use items" turned off in the behavior tab, but still they drink them.

Any idea's what's wrong here?
I do not have the touch, nor do I have the power.

Try turning to each party NPC's settings page, and turn the puppet control on. That way, they won't take any action, at any time, that you don't give them. They won't fight, cast spells, or drink potions without your initiating the command.

I think the "use item" option refers to wands and the like, but not potions. I ended up only keeping potions on my character and letting my companions die.

I have the same problem and also with spells. I've disabled my druid's casting behaviour, but it doesn't make a difference.I want my druid to bash around a little when I'm busy managing another party member, but she's usually off emptying her precasts anyway. Weird.

Did you set puppet controls on?

Well, sure that works but I'd rather have them be able to use at least some of the options. I guess I just have to wait for the patch.

I was able to set their actions to do very little on their own and it works fine for me... not sure if it was the use items during combat that controlled it or what, but I Can give them potions and wands and such and they never use them unless I control them.

I have to admit though, that I like them using potions rather than die.. potions are so cheap it is insane not to have tons on hand for them to use.
