one of my characters has an energy drain effect on them. i can't seem to get rid of it. how do i get it off my character.

Restoration.
My clerics never learn it, so I usually stock up with a few of Oswald's Potions of Lesser Restoration.
You could also cast Negative Energy Protection beforehand...
