Stats in red! How do I fix them?

Post by Doido75 »

Hello ppl,

I read some of the threads (not to say all of them) and just a couple mention something about the stats... (no im not cursed) but i really could not find an answer to how to solve it. Does anyone have a way to fix it? Or some path to follow? Any help will be most appreciate.

Thx in advance,

Doido

You may have been cursed (the only one I know of is -1 to charisma by Madame Tussaude, there are other curses, though), scarred (lowers your beauty) or wearing a helmet (-1 to perception). You might also be drunk (lowers your perception, dexterity and intelligence). Try resting if you're drunk or go see a healer if you're scarred. ;)

No problem. ;)
Most of the merchants that sell herbology items can heal you. Oh, there's another thing that might lower your stats: hexed items. Make sure that you're not wearing any, and if you're wearing some unidentified magickal items, remove them because they may be hexed.

I've noticed that Chukka's dex is red. I took away all of his items and it's still there, healers will only heal wounds on my main character, but I thought only beuty was lowered by wounds. I'd rather not edit the game to try and fix this. Also, he only gains 1 dex from gloves of dexterity, when they normally give 2, so I can't get him to full melee/dodge.

It's been a while since I played this game, but one thing I can say is that the gloves you mentioned are a magic item, and if Chukka has gone too far to the tech side that would reduce the effect of the gloves.

Actually, I think that simply being at 0 (no tech/no magic) get you only half of the bonuses of magical items (and similarily, half of the bonuses of technical items, like for instance the electro ring). IIRC, you need to have a significant level in magic/tech to get all the benefits of items.
