Nasher's Equipment

Post by swcarter »

I found a couple of Nasher's items -- Nasher's Boots (+3 dex) and Nasher's Ring (+3 str) -- and if you read their descriptions, the implication is that there are four such items, and if you wear all four at once then you'll gain some sort of set bonus.

So I'm curious if anybody found all four, and what you get if you wear all the items at once.

Well, according to the toolset these 4 items exists:
Nasher's Gloves of Combat
Nasher's Ring of Strength
Nasher's Nimble Boots
Nasher's Cloak of Protection
I tried to combine them in a module, but could not see any additional benefits then what is listed in their description.

I have not looked further into it (bit stressed for time right now), but I can do so later today when I'm home again.

Right, and it looks like the only way to even get all 4 at this point is to use cheats. Another little "bug", Obsidian?

Doesn't mean it's a bug. They could have decided at some point that all 4 items would be unbalancing in the game. So they decided to stop work on it, which is why no final bonus has been applied.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

Hmmm, and if the missing ones will be in an expansion? They just made the items in advance, and did not make their power, that's all.
Remember the pantaloons in bg? ;)

These are some of the hold over items from the first Neverwinter Nights game. In that game they do magnify their effects if you have equipped all 4. But if they don't do it here, they must not have done (or understood) the coding from the original.

It does not matter really, as the Boots and the ring are the only two items you can find in the game...

Think it was the Merchant outside Sand's shop and the Merchant in Port Last near the Jail, both are Wahkeen Merchants.
This is from memory so please don't throw anything pointy if I am wrong. ;p
Trust me, most of the names I have been called you can't translate in any language...they're not even real words as much as a succession of violent images.

I bought the ring, so it wasn't from a Blessed of Waukeen merchant. I'm pretty sure I got it in Act II, but I can't remember where.

IIRC the ring is from the merchant in Port Llast who has a quest for you. Can't remember the name ..... but I can't remember for sure.

The ring can be purchased from Nya, the alchemist merchant in Port Llast she is about halfway between the Waukeen merchant and the Inn, on the east side of the map.

Yeah, OE will prob pull a "pantaloon" and include the other 2 items in an expansion.
