Screen brightness
I'm having trouble with increasing the brightness in NWN. The gamma control in the game doesn't seem to do anything. Nor does changing the gamma and brightness settings for my video card, a Radeon 850X--ether inside the game, or on my desktop. I've got the monitor controls of my old Dell Trinitron for brightness set on max. Video drivers are completely updated. Any ideas?

I don't know. It could be that it is your screen. At my parents place they also use an old CRT which is very dark. You could also try stuffing around in your config files; maybe you can find the gamma setting.

EDIT: I seem to have solved the problem. My refresh rate is 85, but I'd set an override refresh rate at 60, which is used by some 3D apps/games, and is used in Morrowind. (When I've had 60 set, I quickly developed strange blue striation effects.) By changing back to 85, I've been able to regain control of gamma, both inside the Catalyst control center, and directly in NWN.
Now, I just need to remember to reset it when I go back to playing Morrowind, at some time in the future.
