Favorite henchman?
Well, I guess it's got to be asked.
Note: From what I've gathered, there are more than 9 henchmen throughout the entire series, so I included "Other" just in case.

Deekin, hands down! He reminds me of an odd sort of cross between Jan Jansen and Cespenar, with a measure of "cuteness" thrown in. I wish all of the NWN henchmen had that much personality.
I also quite like the female rogue/mage/assassin you can get in the second chapter of HoTU.

Valen, surely. <3 But Deekin and Xanos and Nathyrra are my favs too. Xanos is just so funny in all his power hunger. And Deekin, well, he's damn funny. And Linu, she's sweet, in OC I mean, for some reason I don't like OC's henchmen as much in HotU. Tomi being the most annoying case, he was much more enjoyable in OC.

Heh, I know, I like many of them.

Yep! Or the comments he makes to himself as he scribbles frantically in his notebook. :laugh:mr_sir wrote:Deekin is the only henchman I always use these days, I take him along just for his dialogue and songs lol. I also love the banter he has with Daelan and other henchman in HotU

Deekin sounds interesting. Can't wait to hire him up in SoU or HotU.
Still, I'd have to say my real favorite so far has to be Tomi Undergallows. I just love his humor and all that, especially with some mundane stuff.
(If he get's injured or something like that) "Hey! Bleedin' here!"
(If you ask him to get closer.) "Alright, I'll stay close then. Just keep up with the laundry, aye?"
That, and he's a decent rogue IMHO.

I'm gonna say two things about Deekin: "Are you going to kill that one, too, boss?" and "Doom doom doom doom DOOM! ...hehehehe"
Many people find Deekin annoying, but aside from maybe Valen and Nathyrra, he's the one henchman who has the most believable character. If I could've taken him in the OC already, I would have. Most henchmen either bore the living daylights out of me or annoy me to no end ( Sharwyn comes to mind... ), but Deekin... LOVE.

I've said this before and I'll say it again! I LOVED Deekin! It was his little mutterings to himself that I particularly enjoyed ( i seem to remember a time when he was rummaging through his bag for a clean pair of socks, i think it was!) and his verbal sparrings with any other henchman you happen to have with you.
I did like Valen too, but then I kinda had to since he fell for my character!

Seriously, I don't necessarily object to "romances" in a game if they really add to the story and if the characters are well developed... Valen had potential, but the transition between his viewing your character with suspician to suddenly calling her "my love" was waaay too sudden IMO.
In general, though, I think I prefer Nathyrra over Valen.
Of the original henchmen that are in HoTU, whom are actually better developed (IMO) than in the OC, I like Daelen, and Linu. The conversations between Deekin and Daelen are actually quite touching, I find.

Deekin... And Sharwyn at the sane time. Have you tried? They have some funny things they say when in same party
YOU DONT KNOW THE POWER OF THE DRUNKSIDE ill beat you up with my bottl ...lightsaber!!!And Drunk Side is a bar in KOTOR1... check these out! http://www.xfire.com/screenshots/drunkside/
My vote goes to Tomi, since I usually play with fighting -type class, and thus thief is well needed to disarm traps. And Tomi does the jb well enough, there is only few locks he can't open right away, but after level or two he can...
And his humour is great...

Well, as soon as I play either SoU or HotU, I guess I have reason to go with Deekin if and when I get the chance.
I'm surprised Grimnaw didn't get ANY votes. I swear I've heard people praise him before. :speech:
Still, my vote at least went towards Tomi, and I'm sticking to that.

In the OC, I like Linu the best when using a mage. Sure sometimes, she just stalls a bit and casts spells, but since you are a mage and don't need her to rush right in the stall right after rest is Okay. I love how she is immune to sleep which is the best early game spell when using a henchman. Using a Flame weapon on her makes her just as powerful as Daelen, since you only need her to hack through the hordes or weenies, since almost all bosses early go down with Phantasmal Visage and Flesh to Stone. I still like Linu is HOTU until you get to the underdark, her Ai is better and she is very potent in the large battle with the drow. She also doesn't die to weenies the dsame way daelen does. Deekin is fun and good to take at least once for the dialogue but not that effective. Lady Aribeth is awesome if you equip her well.
