Jaheria/khalid, and thieves...

Post by Iceyx »

I just restarted baldurs gate 1 after finishing bg2 ~6-10 times. I never had the patience for this game. But I have decided to suck it up and go for it. tutu makes it reasonable (I still wish there was more loot!)

Here are some issues I have run into though.. not sure if they are tutu related or just general.

First off, I have explored every single area completely that I have access too. this includes the mines. Friendly arm inn was the last place i went. Khalid/jaheria are nowhere to be found here! I don't care if I cant get khalid, but I have always been a fan of jaheria. I am not sure if I blew it with them, going so late? The innkeeper still says they are waiting in a corner for someone... yet noone is in any corner.

Second, in my travels of massive bandit slaughter and general looting, I killed the 2 thieves that "escort" you to the bandit camp. The one in pendlehaven, and the one in the other forest. How do I get to the bandit camp now? Leaving at the north end of pendle does not give me the option to travel there, nor does leaving from the east end of the farms with ankhegs. I am assuming this advances the storyline, considering the guard at baldurs gate tells me the bandits have to be dealt with in order for the gates to open.

And finally, Scorcerer solo game sound good for BG2? I don't plan on transfering my thief over... I had a kensai/thief in bg2 solo that did the job 3X as well. Scorcerer solo was my Icewind dale 2 character, one of my favorites at that. I have not played one in bg2 yet. How are they in comparison to IWD2?

Thanks ^^

One more question--

My Assassin is Level 8 with 70405 EXP. I am considering dual classing him over to a fighter. Is this even worth doing in BG1 with the XP caps so low? I have ToTSC installed... so it won't be terrible, but would I hit the end of the game before I ever get my assassination back?

If you've been to the mines, you are too late for Khaled, Jaheira.

SPOILER

.
If I'm not mistaken...
If you've been to the mines and dealt with Mul-whatsis, go to the expensive inn on the west side of Beregost. In the south bedroom on the second floor is whatsisname who will get snippy with you. Once he's disposed of, the bandit camp should appear on the map (did for me, anyway). Sorry, I can't ever remember everyone's names :)
I nuked the two thieves, too, and had to fight my way through the bandit camp.

No, you can't.
The XP cap with ToSC is 110,000 something. You cannot have enough experience points available in the game.

As for your question regarding solo sorcerer in BG2, search BG2 threads then ask there if necessary. There are so many similar questions of this before, and this is BG1 forum.

The cap is 161,000 XP with TotSC in a normal game, but TuTu uses the BG2 engine and should therefore have a far higher XPCap.
But I don't think that dualclassing now makes sense. You need 250,000 XP for fighter level9.
