Red Faction 2, One of the best multiplayers

Post by FPS=BEST »

Game:Red Faction 2
Console:Xbox
Rated:M-Violence, blood and gore
----------------------------------
Red Faction 2 (RF2) is a great sequel/continuation from the PS2's Red Faction. Fight alongside an elite squad of soldiers to complete your mission. Door wont open? Create your own.

Graphics:7/10
The graphics are ok. The explosions, however, are really well done along with the guns. The character models are pretty good, but the eviroments just didnt have a enough detail.

Audio:8/10
The audio is well done. The guns and the speeches are really good. But you can tell, when you are watching a cutscene, THQ tried there best on to try to make the charcters look like there talking, but it doesnt. At all.

Levels:8/10
There are levels where you will fall in love with, than theres others that you will absolutley hate. This game is best-known for the destructible enviorments. Its true. Lot of guns that can blow up anything.

Story:8/10
Super soldiers who were enhanced by a secret technology on Mars, as the main character, Alias, you need to stop the Commonwealth and there leader Sopot. There are about 25 endings in this game.

Weapons:9/10
I love the guns on here. And if you play this game, you will too. From pistols (dual wielded) to a huge rocket launcher known as the W.A.S.P.
The very first gun you get, is my personal favorite. There are also a lot of "vehicles" i guess you could say, in this game. Submarines, helicopters, and a HUGE armory suit that will destroy anything.
You cant got wrong with any of the weapons on this game, every weapon is fun to use.
You can use a rail-gun which can shoot through walls!!!

Controls:10/10
The controls that are set on default are:
L thumbstick- Relative movment
R thumbstick- Pitch/turn
L thumbstick button- Crouch
R thumbstick button- Jump
right trigger- Fire primary weapon
left trigger- fire secondary weapon
A- Use/select* and reload
B- Previous weapon
X- Next weapon
Y- Throw gernade
black- Reload
white- Quick spin
DP up- objectives
DP down- night vision
DP left- previous gernade type
DP right- Next gernade type

I HATED THE DEFAULT, BUT DONT WORRY BECAUSE YOU CAN CUSTOMIZE THE CONTROLS HOWEVER YOU WANT THEM TO BE.

Gameplay:8/10 (single player/campaign)
This is what really matters out of them all. The single player is fun, and differnt from other first person shooters. This game seems "rare" or not really known. The physics are average, but its always fun launching a gernade at them and watching the the body explode to millions of pieces and watch them fly out. Enemy AI is not bad. The hardest difficulty setting makes the game a real challenge. The single player is just so fun. Its really a game you got to try out. This game uses a checkpoint system, just like most games do.

Multiplayer:10/10
Perfect. If i was to compare this to Halo 2's multiplayer, i would say i like RF2 better. The multiplayer features: deathmatch, team deathmatch, arena, team arena, bagman, team bagman, regime, and capture the flag. The A.I. is pretty good, and amazing. There are probably more than 40 levels in multiplayer. The worse thing about it is that it doesnt have xbox live, which would have been a hit.WHERE IS THE LIVE????? This would be one of the greatest games on xbox live if it had live.

Replayibility:9/10
For me replay has to be good for a game, because i dont want to play a game once and be done with it. This game passes my expectations easily. Like i said before, there are about 25 differnt endings, there are unlockables-concept art,movies,cheats,ECT- and there is a thing called "Heroics" If you have good heroics the bar will be filled mostly to the right and be green, but if you dont have good heroics (killing civilians, shooting your own team,) than it wont be filled much to the right and as you go left it turns red.

Recomendation:Buy or Rent?
If you can find it less than 20 bucks than i would say go for it, more than that isnt worth it because of the other FPS out there.

Final Score:7.9/10 Good
If your looking for a really good multiplayer get this game.
Im joing the army is just like FPS but better graphics.

Currently playing: KOTOR, PSI OPS, Silent Hill 2

Hmmm... interesting...

I don't personally like FPS in consoles, but I have tried this one a bit and it seems okay. Just few questions/corrections...

Yes, sequel, but not only PS2's, but IIRC to Computer and who knows which other consoles too... So I wouldn't claim it to be "continuation from the PS2's Red Faction", since RF was published in CP version as well...

Isn't this one of the most common plots used in FPS? Uber soldiers made in somewhere, your mission is to stop them/their production and kill the big boss behind it...

I would give lower rate... perhaps something like 6/10, since the plot doesn't offer much new...
Multiplayer:10/10

Where do you need A.I. in multiplayer? Hardly anywhere, so I wouldn't have highlighted it this much. But it's only my opinion...

In rest, I agree with you... :)
