My party is doing nothing
My party is doing nothing
I played the game for a day and reached the area where you find the old dwarf stronghold filled with bugbears. I entered the place and cleaned it, but when I came to the cutscene where a couple of bugbears talked to eachother about the gold they had found my game went crazy. After this cutscene none of my companions follow my character, he can run through all the map with them standing still doing nothing. They do nothing in fights unless I tell them too etc. etc. It is as if puppetmode is on constantly, making my companions do nothing at all. Puppetmode is off for all characters, followdistance is short. I have searched all options and keymappings for a solution to the problem but found nothing. Is anyone else experiencing this problem or is it only me? I've read a couple of threads here but I find nothing like my problem.
Issue the command for them to follow you. Hold the right mouse button, and then select broadcast command, and then follow me. Feels like I've said this before....
If you've already cleared the map, I dont see the big deal. Just finish up your objective in the map, and head out. I still have the same problem even after changing maps though. Broadcast Command has always worked for me however.

Sometimes they get stuck on something (or each other) too. What I have done a few times is make one of the companions lead and drag them all to another spot, then switch back to my "main." I've found it particularly irritating to charge into battle and find I have no support .. the whole stupid crew of them log-jammed behind me someplace. Any indoor battle area has this particular issue, they need to reduce the models' collision radius a tad.
the thing is that if I enter an area they just stand still, to move the group I need to move every character on it's own. In battle my party does nothing, if I move from one character to another the first one stops in whatever he is doing; moving, casting spells, fighting. They just do NOTHING at all unless I am moving them manually, and when I stop to choose another character they go back to doing nothing. I have tried the followcommand but it doesn't work either, they only move if I manually tell them too. And when I choose another character they stop in their steps..
I have the exact same problem and it is driving me crazy!
I have entered the eyegouger's cave now and still have the problem...
It started from when I entered the Dwarf Camp I believe.

Finally! It works when I select the Broadcast command! ThanksAcleacius wrote:What happens when you right click on the map, not a charater and hold it till the menu comes up and issue command to follow?

When I was in the lizard ruins with Bevil, I finished all the lizardmen off and
Bevil said something like I'm ready to leave when you're finished here. I
did all my searching and then walked out. Bevil stayed in the same room. I
found I had to talk to him and tell him I was done and then we warped back
to west harbor. Could that be happening?

Yay!
Yeah the warping is bugged in many areas.
NWN2 is still very bugged and rushed out for the holiday, so it still needs much work hopefully this 1.03 patch will help.

Trust me, most of the names I have been called you can't translate in any language...they're not even real words as much as a succession of violent images.
That's not a bug, that's just you not following directions. He said to let him know when you wanted to leave.zan11dar wrote:When I was in the lizard ruins with Bevil, I finished all the lizardmen off and

And are they CONTINUING to follow you and fight with you now? Or do you have to keep on using Broadcast Command? I haven't had the problem yet, but I want to know for in case I do.

Yes normaly, to me it seems to be a bug which starts happening in the Docks area, maybe second chapter.
Odd things happen in the Docks area, so much so it must be a common bug, things like warping.
Say you just come thruogh the World Map to the gate near where you initally go to the Merchant District and you start heading to the Weapon Merchant.
Moving say yoiu click far ahead near the Merchant so you don't have to constantly keep clicking, then the game studders and you charater is instantly at the click location without having to physically travel there and all you party memebers are still back running from the gate.
Next from the same gate moving the same direction say going to the ship location while your traveling your party will only move one at a time so while you make it to the ship you can still see at least 1 party member still near the gate while you make your destination, say and come under attack.
They released the game in a very buggy state, seems all 3 AAA titles have shipped from 2 to 3 month early, including NWN2, G3 and DM.
Just do the best you can and if you get to frustrated try to move on to another game as all 3 are doing patches, though its never fast enough.

I've had similar experiences, and I've yet to even reach the city of Neverwinter!
Sometimes, I found that simply defragging my HDD works (or rather, my brothers, as I don't (YET) legally own the game (I hope to get it for Christmas, Or I will purchase it afterwards (I will have it before my BDAY in February (If it were in Jan, I'd wait for that, but...))), but only temporary.
And as for Patches: When did they (or ANY company) get patches out fast enough? They DO need some time to duplicate the bug, find out what was broken, and then test the possible solution.....
