Lost All Abilities

Post by mystikspiralfan »

I was going into assumanu and as my health was low I ran out to rest. Apparently a summoned bonewalker gave me brownrot and something I did lost me that and all my nordic bonuses. When I load or in the first cast re-load, I get 'Failed to load spell Brown Rot,' Failed to load spell Resist Shock 50%', etc. So um...what can I do to fix this?

Go back to a previous save. Alternatively, try paying and praying at a temple altar to see if it cures the symptoms; or use potions; or cast the appropriate spells.

I get thta with my dark elf and I've never even caught brown rot with him. I would look into it more. Try the official forums.

Well, the Imp. Cult altar didn't work, and I don't think a temple one would either. Oh yeah, and I have no alternate saves. I was wondering if anyone could tell me the exact (if it exists) console codes to add it back (im such a
n00b! lol)? Thank thee in advance.

First, take off all your items that add bonuses. Then, bring up the console using ~, and type:

SetStrength [number here]

You may need to do:

player-->SetStrength [number here]

Not sure. Try 'em both. That should work on all stats.

It's not stats I'm missing. It's my 100% resistance to frost and 50 or 75% resitance to shock that I'm missing.

As I recall, you add resistances by doing this:

player-->addspell "immune to frost"

Not sure how to do 50% or 75%. Try:

player-->addspell "resist shock_50_unique"

Ok, I'm doing that, but it keeps saying "reference object 'player-' could not be found." It does this both when my character is and isn't selected.

Errr.... at any point, did you open the character creation screen via console to change something about your character? If you do that (even once), you lose all your spells and special abilities and have to go get them all over again.
Get up, stand up. Come on, throw your hands up.

AN, just to be clear, changing a stat the way I've described will definitely not cause this to happen. But the console command Enablestatreviewmenu can do this--just not all the time. It's simply buggy.

Fable must have written it wrong. I use "player->" not "player-->".
