tuner hardware

Post by Tricky »

I need to find a good way to record (and program recording, like TIVO) digital television feeds and play/distribute them over a home LAN (I know some software players like the VLC player already support this). Network demands don't have to be high -three active streams at the most. As for recording, it would be nice if it was possible to record 'two shows at the same time' or more. I don't know if consumer DR can pull that already, but it would be bonus.

I know, I'm being far too general.. but it's all part of the master plan. ;) I know little about TV tuner cards, compression and suitable hard drives. Can anyone point me to the right direction? Some experiences to share?
