Disappearing spells - is this a bug?

Post by Shine »

Hi
This is the third time now that I've had to re-do Anomen's spells. They just get wiped out of his memory. Meaning that they don't just look faded as they do when they've been used before resting. I mean that they are "known" to him but no longer "memorized" (well, all but two level 1 spells).

Is this a bug or did he get hit with a spell that causes him to forget his spells? This only seems to happen to him.

The only time I've seen this happen is after a character was level-drained. The spells for those levels had to be completely reset once they were brought back. Is this by the slightest chance what happened to Anomen in your game?
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

If you have an item that grants extra spells slots and you remove that item, the spells in those slots will vanish. Same goes for slots gained by a high Wisdom.

Perhaps something of the like could be the problem?
“The world breaks every one and afterward many are strong at the broken places. But those that will not break it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially.”

The level drain did it, I'm sure. Just went through the temple ruins to bail Mazzy out and Anomen got himself zapped. (I'd make a terrible magic user....)
