1.03 Patch
1.03 Patch
The 1.03 patch is officially available now. From glancing at the patch notes, it appears to be identical to the beta 1.03 patch.

Installed pretty quick for me - 56mb download. Took about 5 minutes to grab the update and another 5-10 to install everything.
This patch has worked wonders for camera adjustment speed. It also seems to make the cutscenes run mirror smooth as well. Nice job Obsidian!

Check out Mirrors Online a premier NWN2 roleplaying persistent world and D20 campaign world publishing project.
I downloaded it pretty fast. It was the installation part that bugged me. The first 10% took just about as long as the last 90%.
"You can do whatever you want to me."
"Oh, so I can crate you and hide you in the warehouse at the end of Raiders?"
"So funny, kiss me funny boy!" / *Sprays mace* " I know, I know, bad for the ozone"

Lucky you - took 45 minutes on my machine, and that was after 45 minutes of revering the beta version to 1.02 so it would run.smass wrote:Installed pretty quick for me - 56mb download. Took about 5 minutes to grab the update and another 5-10 to install everything.

There seems to be an improvement all around in load times even over the beta version.
I had the 1.02.whatever, no beta patch. It could just be because I was multi-tasking on my computer, but I usually don't have that problem. I wasn't going crazy with multiple programs, just browsing online. The installation sped right up once it got through the first 10% of the install and changed what was being installed, which is why I found that odd.Acleacius wrote:Magrus did you already have the Beta 1.03 and 1.02 installed as I think for sure 1.02 is required?

I had this problem too, what was happening was it also seems to be mapped to MouseLook, I looked for it in all the ini files but couldn't find it.
I had to remap the Quick cast to "Y" then all of a sudden after reaching the Graveyard I checked it again and now the "F" key is free again and remapped it back to "F" and everythign is fine.
Very weird.
Just remap it and test hitting the "F" key to see if its still mapped if you wnat to put it back.

Trust me, most of the names I have been called you can't translate in any language...they're not even real words as much as a succession of violent images.
Just so you know, the 1.04 patch was officially released today. The current version is now 1.04.860. The patch notes don't look too exciting, but hopefully the patch will fix some of the problems people have been having.

You should be able to patch your game automatically by selecting Update from the first menu that pops up. Or is that not working for you?

I know that I have been unable to update programs automatically since being forced to satellite connection. I have an idea that the 45,000 mile lag (almost a quarter-second one way) is causing the update program to burp.swcarter wrote:You should be able to patch your game automatically by selecting Update from the first menu that pops up.
I know that when I subscribed HughesNet (DirecWay at the time) that I was instructed to not play real-time FPS games over the internet using this connection for that reason. Another lag related burp happens on the POGO gamesite - my fiancee plays bingo over there and consistently is able to bingo on numbers that have not appeared on HER screen.
It's better to be a live jackal than a dead lion, but it is better still to be a live lion (and normally easier as well).
For patches you could look here (and probably elsewhere).
