My New Evil Party

Post by Pellinore »

Well, now that I have TuTu successfully installed I have decided to go the evil path. Here is the Party I have settled with, please give your input or opinions.

Halfling Fighter/Thief
Kagain
Sharteel
Viconia
Edwin
Xzar

I wanted more arcane spellpower than I had last run-through and to my knowledge Xzar is the only other evil arcane caster. I had Garrick with me for a time but he was a bit useless so he ran to punch a basilisk when I picked up Sharteel. Stupid bard... I really didn't like Xzar's starting spells but thats easily fixed and his stats aren't all that bad. I need to know his forbidden schools....

That party should do very well.
Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocre minds. The latter cannot understand it when a person does not thoughtlessly submit to hereditary prejudices but honestly and courageously uses their intelligence.

Xzar's forbidden school is illusion, so you can't send him blurred and mirror imaged into melee. (which you probably don't want to anyway)

Eldoth is also an evil arcane caster if you can bear him.

Xzar is a good spell caster but vulnerable without mirror image so keep him protected. You'll brease through with this group no problem. A little low on ranged combat but you'll have lots of spells to make up for that.
:) Once again time to give someone the boot to make room for Coran. LOL :)

I usually use the Armor spell on Xzar and that seems to be sufficient so long as he isn't the main target of the attack.

Yah the first level Armor spell lasts for 8 hours or something like that. I find you usually rest before it wears off unless you do some really serious travelling. Shield is also a go spell that only lasts for the average length of a battle.

Thanks for all the input. BTW, this party seems much more powerful than my last and this one is lower level! The party is breezing through fights that my last had trouble with.:speech:

It should continue that way the evil NPC's as a whole are better than the Nuetral/Good NPC'c in the game. You basically made your own Montoron who also becomes powerful. I've played that same group except I had Montoron and my PC was a Fighter that took the place of Shar-Tiel. Basically the same thing you have.

Yeah but my stats are a tad bit higher than Monty's. I just punked big 'D' in the Cloakwood Mines and am now off for Baldur's Gate. I am saving Durlag's for after I level up a bit. Last go around I was 2 levels higher at this point but I had attempted Durlag's earlier in the game and got more XP. Shar-Teel kicks butt but has low HP because of the 9 CON she has....I have to watch out for her as she gets into trouble sometimes.

I just killed Noober... :D The town didn't seem to care but the entire population went red on me when I opened a chest in a house....alone. Had to run but I'll be back with a present for them all....:mischief:

My PC was a little better than Shar-Teil as well but same layout as yours in general. If your level is high enough keep an Otilylicks Resistant Sphere around to cast on her for protection when she gets beet up. Also use alot of potions with her. If you send Kaigan in first then Shar afterwords most of the enemies will attack him and leave her to woop up on them.

There is no rep loss for killing noober even if you are good I like to beet him bloody with my strongest characters bare fists.LOL
If you let him talk to you about 50 times you get like 400 exp. or something hardly worth forgoing the fun of smacking him around.

Yeah, it was rather satisfying sliding a well placed sword in his spine whilst he was buggin Viconia... I lost rep when I did it to Lahl. Oh well.
