If it aint broke why fix it?

I have recently decided to install Tutu, but was saddened that various changes were made for which I cannot see the reason. It stops you killing Tazok in the bandit's Camp for example on the grounds that it prevents continuity conflict. Firstly it doesn't if you are not going to allow the enemy to resurrect their own as Tazok reappears in SoA. If you do allow the enemy to resurrect their own, then there is no problem with killing him twice in TOSC. Another change that I was saddened to see is that you can no longer take Deder with you. Deder is an old friend of mine and has been with me on countless adventures. He is also in my opinion the best thief. However here is an idea for you modders that I would like. Make the Helm of opposite alignment part of the storyline in SoA or ToB, then people who wanted to do that part of the quest would have to go through TOSC first. What do others think?

WG, for the life of me, I can't figure out who Deder is.
I agree with you that not all the changes made by TuTu were great, but does what it promises and that is letting you play BG1 with the BG2 engine. I've had a lot of fun with it. Don't you like the fact that you can use all those neat kits?

I have not yet installed Tutu, I was just reading the information prior to reinstalling it. My computer died within a week of installing it last time. Deder is a thief in the training room that you have to be quite skilful to get to join you. You can actually get all the party to join you with the basic game but I won't tell you how but let you work it out for yourself if you can still play the unmodded game. It's fun learning these things for yourself. I was wondering can you start the game in TOSC and then change it to Tutu later? That way I could perhaps get the best of both worlds.

I believe that the makers of TUTU viewed using the training characters as a bug. Personally I viewed it as a secret because it probably never happened by accident thats for sure. And the characters are hacked pretty nicely especially Deder plus they all start on level two with no experiance. (I may be a little fuzzy on that been a while) Its like a bonus if you ever figured out how to keep them.

Anyway some bad in TUTU but overall I prefer it to the stock game.
:) Once again time to give someone the boot to make room for Coran. LOL :)

I'm not 100% sure, but since TuTu essentially uses another game engine I would imagine you can't.

I agree with you 100%. I think that all the rewards you get for not accepting the inevitable ie getting a good party, gauntlets of weapons expertise, helm of opposite alignment, were fully intended. Why else would they be there? To make Tazok a better fighter, they didn't have to give him the gauntlets. They could just have improved his stats. The demonknight had no need of the helm. It was just there.

True, and if you figure it out than you get to decide whether or not to use it to your advantage. All that stuff you mentioned takes some serious fooling around to aquire doesn't just happen.
