DoD Helm

So I got a helm, Edge of Instability I think (it has polymorph), in Daggers over Darkford, or is it Darkness over Daggerford, whatever, I put it on, it won't come off. I can tell it isn't a bug, because when i try to put on a new one, , it has a little animation and it stays on. I don't mind the powers, but I prefer staying in character, which means no helm. How can I get rid of it, is there a quest, or what?

Has anyone else ever had this problem? Is there a console command or hack I can use, even?
