Bringing my BG:Tutu party to SoA and wondering about NPCs
Hey guys
I'm currently playing my way through BG1 as a means of avoiding revision and think that soon I'll be moving the party to BG2 and I'm wondering about installing some new NPC mods to try and get a bit more out of the game I've completed quite a few times now. I'd like some NPCs that add things tactically to the party but more importantly that have good banter and romance opportunities. I'm sure I read somewhere of an NPC that would romance a second PC not just the protagonist for example, that would be grand.
The party at the moment is:
Female human bard
Male Half-elf cleric ranger (protagonist)
Male Gnome illusionist thief
Anyone you can recommend for the remaining 3 berths?
cheers
Fingers

If you have ToB, I'd recommend playing a Wild Mage, otherwise try a Bounty Hunter, a Cleric/Thief (Yes, they CAN backstab) and a Monk.
I think that the Bard is better of being an elven Blade.

The Bard is a blade though not elven. I'm sticking with that party, the question I was asking is of the many NPC mods available which do you think would be the best to add to that party both in terms of tactical flexibility and role play value, romances etc not what kind of characters do you think I should roll up to take the remaining 3 slots.

I've had a bit of a look on the mod list and my thinking is...
Kari the (half)Kobold, because Kobolds are ace even if druids aren't
Saerileth for romance and someone to wield the holy avenger
Auren Aseph if she is romancable by another player created character
I think I'll also install Yikari because I like monks more than druids, but I've got to give the Kobold a try.
Are these NPCs any good? Is Auren romancable by a player created non-protagonist?
cheers

You mean, a second character you create for your party? What does it say in the readme file?Fingers Boggis wrote:Are these NPCs any good? Is Auren romancable by a player created non-protagonist?
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

No, you weren't. That's Amber. Click the highlight to go to her website.Fingers Boggis wrote:Doesnt say anything about it, so Im guessing not.
I'm sure I remember reading something about an NPC mod which would romance either Imoen or a second player created character. Maybe I was imagining it!
To quote:
A summary of Amber's features:
extensive and involving interaction with the PC and other NPCs; conversations, banters and interjections
optional player-initiated conversations
special interjections, banters and more for Underdark
potential for a romance with a suitable male protagonist (or Player 2 in a multiplayer game) or a non-romantic friendship with non-eligible protagonist
multiplayer-friendly flirt pack with both Amber-initiated and player-initiated flirts
a romance conflict with Viconia, Jaheira and Aerie
3 mini-quests with copious dialogue complete with new areas (edited from original game areas)
new items, some more useful than others
voicing for Amber and rest of the more important non-party NPCs
original musical content
No ToB content, unfortunately. Not yet.

Just the ticket thanks, I can now suggest that the lovely Amber romances my grizzled gnome companion whose been watching over me ever since Gorion asked him to follow me on my first little adventures around Candlekeep.
Unfortunately the backstory I've written for the other two characters is man and wife so that could make for interesting romancing
I'm just about to go to Baldur's Gate now in the first game so your help will be very useful soon, cheers

I did a bit of a search for different mods and came across the "Drake" mod in progress over at Chosen of Mystra. I'm not a member over there so couldn't post or PM the maker, Dragon Lord, so was wondering if anyone over here knew if the mod was still in production. I look a bit caster light so a cleric/mage might just fit the bill

If you want to romance Amber make sure that the character has 12+ in both charisma and intelligence before you start BG2. She has a 'change stats'-proof script.
Since the Drake mod did not make the move to the new CoM site it is safe to assume that it's long dead.
For cleric-mages, I can only remeber Deheriana (triple class CFM); Wikadae is a cleric, Solaufein is a FM, Tashia and Kelsey are sorcerers, Xan is a mage, Tsujatha is a mage, Hubelpote and Azure are druids. So there are plenty of casters to chose from
