In Loki, players will choose from one of four characters: a Norse fighter, a Greek warrior, an Egyptian magician, or an Aztec Shaman. While the main goal of the game will be to put an end to the trouble that Seth, Egyptian god of evil and darkness, has been starting, each of these characters will have their own unique goals to accomplish as well. Since all of the characters come from such different regions, they also have very different pantheons of gods, and varying value systems. As the game goes on, players will be exposed to the
various myths and legends of these regions, as they deal with the coming of Ragnarok, or the Battle of Troy, all the while following the orders of the deities of one’s respective character.
as players do this, they’ll have over 100 monster types to contend with, as they traverse the game’s four epochs (the heydays of the Norse, Greeks, Egyptians, and Aztecs). Helping to add a little more replay value to all of this, Loki will have randomly generated dungeons so that the various environments aren’t quite the same each and every time someone plays through the game again. Also, there will be plenty of loot to snap up over the course of the game.
I did a search and found a website about it Loki: PC Game Previews - The Armchair Empire

Looks like a 'folklore-inspired' good ol' Diablo.
Indeed, Loki, one of the major deities in the Norse pantheon, resembles a malicious diabolic creature.
"On the day of Ragnarok, Loki's chains will break and he will lead the giants into battle against the gods. Loki is often called the Sly One, the Trickster, the Shape Changer, and the Sky Traveler..."

I read the article posted by Supershadow and my thoughts is that this game reminds me a lot of Diablo and Titan Quest. I have to say that I'm not into Diablo-style games (I was quite put off by Diablo the first time I saw it in action) and this is how I feel about Loki as well.
''They say truth is the first casualty of war. But who defines what's true? Truth is just a matter of perspective. The duty of every soldier is to protect the innocent, and sometimes that means preserving the lie of good and evil, that war isn't just natural selection played out on a grand scale. The only truth I found is that the world we live in is a giant tinderbox. All it takes...is someone to light the match" - Captain Price

Same here. I also never heard of this game too until you posted that article. I did try to search around for more information by using GameRankings.com but couldn't find much. It seems like details on this game is kind of sparse at the moment. Perhaps if a demo of this game is released (whenever that would be), I would be interested in trying it out to see whether if it is interesting or not.supershadow wrote:I didn't know it existed before i did the search on it... I think it looks intresting, but I don't know if I would want to buy it.

I know it seems really hard to get info on the game... But it might really be from a lack of trying...DesR85 wrote:Same here. I also never heard of this game too until you posted that article. Not exactly. I did try to search around in different gaming sites but I couldn't find much regarding Loki. I use Gamerankings.com because it is a portal where they get information regarding a game (especially reviews) from various gaming websites. What I found regarding Loki is a news article from Pro-G and the article you linked. The rest are all screenshots.supershadow wrote:I know it seems really hard to get info on the game... I probably think that the development of Loki is still in it's early stages, thus the reason why there isn't much information on this game. As time goes on, perhaps they (the developer) will reveal more information about it.

No, the stage is rather advanced.DesR85 wrote: I probably think that the development of Loki is still in it's early stages, thus the reason why there isn't much information on this game. As time goes on, perhaps they (the developer) will reveal more information about it.![]()
The release date is QI (in March?) 2007 according to the official site and the forum.

Really? Hmm. But even so, the lack of information does make me wonder as to the status of the game's development. I probably suspect that the developer (Cyanide) wants to keep the game's development under wraps and for a very good reason.Lady Dragonfly wrote:No, the stage is rather advanced.![]()

EDIT: Wait, I just noticed the release date of Loki. It's dated 31 December 2007 according to Gamespy (link).
