Leaving Fargrove from West Gate

Post by reynolditpi »

I cannot get through a half raised gate when i try to leave through the west gate in Fargrove. I have come across a few similar posts through the forum, however they are all much older.

I have been dealing with Dream Catcher customer support now for a month and they have been able to provide no solution. Does anybody have any suggestions? I am playing the collectors edition.

Thanks
Tony

The only thing I can suggest is to download the editor (see top sticky thread).

Load your save (make sure you have a back up) and give yourself a moonstone, then in game 'use' the moonbridge. You wont be able to go anywhere but this activates the bridge and gives you the code. Then exit Fargoth via the south gate. Once outside (and therefore on the world map) save your gme and exit. In the editor on the 'Map' tab, select 'Chest-L??-East Central Bolen Fields', save and reload your save in game and you should be fine.

I just tested that location and it worked fine, but make sure you read all the posts in the Editor thread before using it, there are some pitfalls that can be at least mitigated with pre planning. However there could be one problem, if you've started a promotion type quest it will get broken by the editor. For example, if you started out as a thief/mage/adept and have taken the quest to deliver the Sword of Striking, you will be able to deliver the sword, but will not get the fighter class. To overcome this you'll have to mark the relevant quest(s) as 'not started; that would be No 21 Fighters Guild and No 22 Fighters Guild Member in the above instance. Then restart the quest once your editing is complete, hence (among other things) the need for a moonstone before leaving Fargrove.

One solution...

If you are not familiar with, or don't have, the editor, then you might consider starting a new game, and porting your previous character in via Multiplayer.

True, you have to replay the sewers and the Galdryn's Horn quest, but if you skip the non-essential areas, then you can be back to your current position pretty quickly.

Just be sure that after you begin the Multiplayer session that you Save, Quit, and the Reload in Single Player.
