Ur right, bladerelic of night is medium. Sometimes it seems that when vitality is high enough to give you health over 100, opponents start to get more powerful.

I found a way around this though. I hex edited vitality to 9999/09. Then in game, hitting C and increasing vitality by one causes the 9999 to become 10000. You will never again have to bother vitality and it's the right side low vitality that apparently determines how powerful opponents are.

C again to close stats, then C again to open stats and the left side of life is steadily climbing to a max of 20000+. If you are near a campfire, resting will rapidly take it to full and you end up with 10001/10 for vitality, and 20000/20000+ for life.

There is one tiny annoyance to this tactic. When you use the editor, it resets vitality and life to lower values. In that case, you merely have to hex the save again and reset vitality to 9999/09. Health values should still be 20000/20000+.

okay .. now abot spells.. not working

okay ive read about spells in CE not working
so i thought id test this and gave myself the apropriate books/crystalls using 1.56

do i have to do or set anything other than the apropriate magic books sub catagory under items??
i made sure my magic skills were high enough etc...

result the spells didnt seem to do anything not cast etc ..but it used charges so imassuming they werent programmed??
how can you have spells that exsist and not program them you must understand i speak as someone who worked for ssi and interplay for 10yrs ..in silly valley..and you do not leave majour gaps like that unpatched for long..
maybe a command key that didnt work out after manual printing sure..okay..
but not spell effects /mechanics of a rpg..boggle*
this could be right up there with oblivons build for xbox port to pc...

or Temple of elemental evils "we need six more months.."

"sorry no..we are going to sell it anyways"

anyone working on making them work??
any chance hera..might actually make features they document work??

most importantly anyone compiled a comprehensive list of the spells/items known to actually be broken...
or just plain not in the game??
so i dont waste time reopening chest to get X spell and then find X spell a doesnt exsist except from editor.. or be it does exsist but is broke...

thanks sorry to post here this seems to have some knowledgeable people ..and one of the more active threads...and maybe i did mis use editor...

Hey all, sorry i've been away so long.

Steve if the current editor is still in 156a version, then I have noticed something you may want to fix. it is simple compared to the other glitches and stuff though lol.

These are the simple things i have noticed so far.

Samurai is spelled Samurai, not Samuari as you spelled it in the class section of this release lol.

The noble cause herald doesn't have a tooltip that tells you what the effects of it are when you put the cursor over it.

A few quests in the quests section also don't have the tooltip that sums up what they are about when you put your cursor over them.
Will post back with more once i find them.

oh and I think .NET framework 3.0 is out as well just for your info.

Hey, guys! I have a problem using this editor)
I've Dungeon Lords (patch 1.4, licensed by 1C, Russia)... Problem is when I'd added to my hero some magical items (such as Crystal Of Levitation, Blink Crystal, Freezing Vapors etc.), after saving and loading the game I cannot use them. Another one problem is that I cannot find this items in shops (Aryndale, Fargrove). Please, help me! ;)

A couple of problems I've encountered playing V1.4, using V1.56 of the editor:

1. Level drops, often to level one, not that big a problem

2. Advancement points virtually vanish, not too much of a problem once I realised, simply use up the AP's before making the save to be edited.

3. Using the editor when on a promotion quest breaks the quest, now this is a problem, no way round it other than to remember not to use the editor under those circumstances. The only solution I found when it's happened to me (yes I did it more than once, no genius me! ) was to use the editor to set the quest as not started and starting again.

4, Using the map function when you're not on the world map is disasterous, but you knew that already. Don't think I'm blaming you Steve, your caveat was plain enough, I should have payed more attention, but IMHO that function (the Map/Scene drop down) should have been omitted.

Hmm just had a thought after reading all the posts again,
because I had noticed the spells not working as well.

here is what I am thinking.
If the programmers did program in the spells and stuff and we are just not seeing it.
then maybe it is a case of us setting our resistances too high with the editor so that magic and fire and ice and petrify and poison and gas and healing and the other special effects now don't show up on our screens as working?

Like if we set magic resistance to 100 or 255 for example, we might not see the magic effect of healing magic or of celestial magic or of rune magic or of any other magical efects that are cast on our characters. We would have to buy a ton of potions. or rest at campfires.

anyone else think that this might have something to do with the spells not working? or did dreamcatcher really not fully program this game.

This might help...

Hi everybody:

My boyfriend and I have been playing multiplayer for a few months trying different classes and things out. After loading the game one day for 7 hours to get a Winter Shuriken (I let him do it and went to bed :D ) in the Shadow Ruins, we decided to get one via the editor. We noticed the immediate drop in level right away, from 36 to 12  .

After some experimenting I found something that works to correct this problem. Say for example you have 20,000 experience points and 8,000 advancement points and you decide to edit. The editor seems to interpret the 8,000 advancement points as being your experience level. Thus, the re-setting of levels. So, when you edit you would need to set your advancement points to be the exact same as your experience points and then you will not lose levels.

(side note: I have found it spoils the game for me to go overboard with the editing, so I try to limit it to one or two items and leave it at that. Just personal preference. :) However, this editor has been a good tool.)

This works even if you spend all your advancement points up before editing. This worked well for us, because he is very insistent on getting that Winter Shuriken for fighting Fire Drakes.

I have had the same problem: I tried to edit my Advancement Points, and got a level drop. Is there anyway around it, so you can give yourself ADV Points? Making them the same as your XP isn't exactly a solution if you just want to add ADV Points.

Thanks in advance!

Need some help :-\

Heya! Firstly, I'd just like to give a big thank you for the great work. ;) The editor is awesome. I’ve had some fun tweaking skills, without going too overboard.

However, I've got a problem.
Everything works fine for me, or so far at least, but every time I pick up a new item I can’t see the stats or information of it!!!!

Say I pick up a sword from a goblin's corpse.
Instead of seeing something like:
Damage 2-4
Reach 5'2
Weight 5
Light Weapons

I just see
?Sword?
??/??
?????

This is a big problem as I can't actually see any of the information of the new items I pick up!!! I can't see what I am wearing... :( :(
I have game version 1.4 and downloaded the latest editor.

Please help.

You just have to identify it. Rightclick and select "Identify". You may need to put points in de ID skill though.
Hope I helped.

I thought that was the case and used the editor to beef up my skill.
But I didn’t realise I had to right click it!

Boy do I feel silly. :p Just got the game again you see.

Thanks for that amazingly prompt reply!!!
Full marks for the editor!

Well, I did mention that my tip works if one doesn't want their level to drop, say from level 12 to 3 or something like that. I don't add in advancment points because I have too much fun killing Moonbeasts. :p

If you want to add advancement points I think it would work if you added in above and beyond what your experience points were. So in my example I have experience points of 20173 so I would think adding in advancement points of 26000 -- seems like a good round number, but you could do whatever amount you wanted, up to the maximum amount allowed...hold your mouse over the advancement points area and the tooltip thingy will show the max amount.

Example

Tooltip "thingy"

What I would suggest you do is save your game in 2 slots, experiment with one and see how it works out for you.... :)

At experience type: 8000000, advance: 10000000
I think that should do it.

problem with game editor

you said in the other thread to post here if i have a problem with the game editor. i have the net framework 2.0. the editor worked until just recently, and i've tried uninstalling and downloading it again but it keeps messing up. if i can get the 2 keys i need to progress some other way, i would be just as happy. like i said in the other thread, i had the gold key and the skull key from the tomb of souls, and then when i went to the vale of ruin and into the draedoth temple, i dont have them anymore.

That seems like an odd problem. I don't know how you could fix the editor to work again, but if you want, I could edit it for you. You would need to send me a private message here and exchange email addys.

Hi Rosemary :)

It really helps to read through earlier posts in the thread. Other people have had the same problem, it isn't that you did anything wrong...it is a quirk in the editor. Hopefully you saved in two slots and/or backed up your game as was recommended. (also, the editor makes a backup) Anyway, try reading these posts here:
