Prefered timeline for BGIII?
When would you like BGIII to take place (plot-wise)?
ven though I agree with Gwalchmai that there is lot of potential before, I eventually voted for the time between the two games. Reason? It would be interesting to see and play the adventures that eventually lead to the capturing of the party by Irenicus. IIRC there was only vague references on what happened during that time, and thus it would be quite interesting.

Anything can happen in Baldur's Gate, becoming city-based sequel without needing to refer to the plot-line of the prior games. (BGII has the characters, but centers around the city of Amn) For that matter, I'd love to see a game based anywhere in Forgotten Realms if done well and matches the play-style of BG. Maybe it could be the founding of the city, or its demise.

IMO there would be absolutely no need for a BG sequel seeing as you get perfect closure in Throne Of Bhaal. Let the Bhaalspawn rest.
It would be interesting to see somekind of a spin off in the form of a NWN 2 module that would follow Balduran as somebody already mentioned in this thread or maybe a module/expansion called "Rise Of Sarevok" (or something) where we got to play Sarevok rising through the ranks of the Iron Throne and then finally confront Gorion as a final boss and kill him which would end the module/expansion

I'd love to see a storyline that involves the Harpers and Gorian, as a non party joinable character, so you witness Bhaal walking the lands and the plot could centre around stopping his worshippers from committing some great evil or around trying to stop the Bhaalspawn being murdered at birth (while working for the Harpers or something like that)
That would be great. Even after the quests relating to the Harper's Stronghold in the Docks in BG2, I still feel inquisitive regarding the Harpers. I'd like to see them featured more in a future game.mr_sir wrote:I'd love to see a storyline that involves the Harpers and Gorian, as a non party joinable character, so you witness Bhaal walking the lands and the plot could centre around stopping his worshippers from committing some great evil or around trying to stop the Bhaalspawn being murdered at birth (while working for the Harpers or something like that)

Baldur's Gate 3: Legacy of Bhaal
Set 100 years after the end of the Bhaalspawn War around Athkatla/Baldur's Gate, it involved a Bhaalspawn who fled to the Planes to get away from the war, but he has returned with his essence destroyed essentially Soulless. He must capture the Souls of thousands of people using the Hand of Blood, one of the gauntlets worn by Melissan. You have ot sotp him/steal the Hand of Blood and kill everyone. Something like that I think.

I had an idea similar to that. After Mellisan's defeat, Bhaal's essence was entombed in Mount Celestial. One year after this event, the Sword Coast has rebuilt itself and a power hungry villain seeks to break into Mount Celestial and steal the essence of Bhaal. New PC (not a Bhaalspawn) would try to stop said villain.Elessar-NWN wrote:Baldur's Gate 3: Legacy of Bhaal

Personally i'd like the story to be with the whole Bhaal saga but new characters with some other kind of major crisis in the world. But also to have references back to BG1 & BG2 characters that have an influence on on why certain things happened in BG1 & BG2 as i thought there were alot of blanks that weren't really told in them. Just a thought! Cant thing of any now as i ain't played the game in a few years and i've been waiting for AGES to see baldur's gate up in production again! PC and PS2 formats!
Hmm shounds kinda like legacy of kain with the whole sould sealing thingElessar-NWN wrote:Baldur's Gate 3: Legacy of Bhaal

Well, the majority of people want the Bhaal spawn story to continue but we have different time era's. [Add up all the others apart from Unrelated and it's higher than the other one], But i think that they should if they release BG3 after the intial release work on a seperate story line for non-bhaal fans. Personally its what got me going in Baldurs Gate 2 and 1. It's just a clever story line which could continue with a little bit of thought and attention
