Yes I have the same problem as mentioned in a previous thread, I remember getting to see the Silent King through a portal somewhere around the Zombie people way back when, but now I can't seem to get access to the portal no matter what, asking Stale Mary is pointless, all she says about the SK is 'Silent King'. It doesn't matter whether I ask her before both assignments from Hargrimm, after both assignments or at any stage between them. My Charisma score stinks though (9), but boosting it to 13 with tattoos was no help.

Anyone any ideas or have I been asking the old gal all the wrong questions?

I don't remember all of the details, but Stale Mary is a lot more helpful if your Charisma is 16 or higher. I hope this helps.

Correct, 16 CHA is required in order to convince Mary to let you gain access to the Silent King. Using the spell Friends should be enough here, which you can buy/steal from Mebbeth after your mage training.
