Well, I was thinking bout the innate habilities of the trio. Wich of them has the best ones?
That strike that Sarevok does is really outstanding but its rate is really small, if you know what I mean.
Minsc has his spells.
Keldorn has his resistances and some dispell habilities.
I've never played with them all, only with Minsc, and replaced him for Sarevok. Damage is increased, but I dont know if that is a tactical enhancement of my party or not.
BTW, I'm sure that women have an extra sensorial hability... That has been proved as some kind of pre cognition, and I really believe it may be influenced by cultural reasons but think: What can u expect from someone who carries a baby for nine months in a world of animals and monsters???

Matter of opinion, as UU says. Personally, I'd rather have a tank who can run straight into battle without casting something beforehand in ToB, but I also admit to being inconsistent: I've twice played through as a kensai/mage, who always requires spellcasting before charging into battle.Originally posted by Luis Antonio

Um, lactation? Other than that, I certainly wouldn't expect ESP. Men and women reveal an identical care for their offspring, greater per sex only depending (once again) on culture. But if you're going to argue for some special powers in a mother's love, I'm afraid I'm going to just have to raise an eyebrow and smile politley. The nearly two decades of abusive hell I went through from mine derived more from a powerful right-hook than any magical nurturing component.

Well, then we shall speak bout Mazzy Fentan with her spells and high short sword and bow habilities, and Valygar as well, cause he is also a Ranger and a fair tank IMHO.
But the others are way much better, I think (Keldorn, Minsc, Sarevok and Korgan).
Now a question: Now that you guys all have played BG from 1 to ToB, how would you build a fighter to walk from candlekeep to become a Bhaalspawn??? I think all my char building are wrong now. I think Dexterity is way more important than strenght from SoA to the end, and a fighter with a 15 or 14 strenght with a decent skill in the bow and high dexterity is able to rule all challenges on BG.

try an archer...dex is more important than str, since you can buy a strength belt early in the game...

An Elvish Archer?
But not to be used as a tank, right? To use him as a flanking sharpshooter?
Well, if he is not a tank i could create a Archer/Cleric you know, that will be very useful as a flanker

I like Minsc the best...Sucha good fighter. Spells, mad as items, enrage,boo... Hampters and rangers everywhere REJOICE!\
Mind you Sarevok is a good tank, but im a bit of a riteous character... Sarevok has good dialouge with imoen thats the only reason i have him. Keldorn is just TOO riteous...I think a good replacement for him is the other ranger...VALYGAR!

Whatever happened to my ICED TEA?
Minsc is always my choice as I am now on my 3rd playthrough from BGI to ToB and he is the only npc fighter type you can run all the way through Jaheira don't count for me... To me she is a cleric. Minsc can mop the floor with Valygar. Every time he gets charmed or dominated he nearly kills Mazzy, Keldorn or anyone else he is near
. If properly played he is an absolute terror. And he suffers from an over abundance of personality. He is probably the best character in the game. I'm not saying the best warrior as that is an opinion. But he has the best personality in the game (seconded by Jan then Edwin and Korgan). Others whine and are obnoxious and some are lecturing. i guess it all comes down to opinion and we all know about opinions....

None of the above. I don't like Paladins, self righteous bigots, all of them. I wouldn't trust Sarevok further than Jan could throw a bull elephant. I did pick up Minsc once, just before going to the Asylum, and left him there, best place for him.

Then of course, when he starts questioning his own ethics in light of yours, and asking questions, the appeal of being asked for advice is too heady to resist.
Boo is, of course, beyond measure.

I'd go with Minsc... we have a history. I mean come on, you hardly know these other guys...
Met in Nashkel, traveled all around. I think he was one of the best fighter types back then.
Could you really forgive Sarevok I won't deny that he is a powerful fighter and there are a few good episodes with him, but I'll have to stick with Minsc. I only recall one good scene with Keldorn and that is when Imoen tries to cover for herself after stealing from him...
Besides, have the two *ever* offered you an ice weasel? I think not.

for putting you through five areas of Cloakwood Forest with notoriously poisonous creatures, not to mention the mine. No... that wasn't you had travel the sewers and the catacombs of Candlekeep. Why? Because he likes to frame people...

I like all three, it really depends on the type of party I'm playing.
Between them, I lean most toward Minsc, for several reasons. As others have stated, he's an old friend.... and I love his insane personality
Not to mention...well, there's Boo. I always have wished that Boo could have been a voice along with Minsc.
Also, in terms of alignment Saravok and Keldorn represent extremes. I never, personally, play either Chaotic Evil or Lawful Good, I view the world in shades of grey, even if I am just playing a game. Of the two, however, I prefer Saravok, he adds a lot of dimension, some great dialogues, and some very interesting character development... especially in the area of moral philosophy.
In terms of fighting, I'd say they all have their strengths, but I never really pick party members based on how powerful they are, if I did that I'd stick to IWD

I could never justify a good party keeping Keldorn beyond his family matters. I mean how good would it be to take the man away from all that he has? I could never justify a non-good party to accept Keldorn into my party in the first place. So for me, that leaves the other two.
Between the two, I just love Minsc because he can use both bladed and blunt weapons. I also love him because he's a fun character and no matter how many times I hear it, I still get a chuckle out of most of what he says.
My favorite combination, however, is Minsc and Sarevok in one party.

In my game, I had both Keldorn & Minsc in SoA, and added Sarevok (for Aerie) in ToB. All three were fantastic:
Keldorn: gotta love a paladin with a holy sword. I personally got tons of usage from his Dispel Magic (at twice his level with a speed factor 1) and True Sight 'Inquisitor' abilities.
Minsc & Boo: I had them all thru BG1, so I had to continue the streak. His character setup seemed appropriate for either giant swords or dual-wielding. It was fun watching him use the Silver Sword, or Mace of Disruption & Axe of Unyielding combos. And his biggest plus to me was his unique & unmistakable personality. (To the very end, I really thought Boo would end up becoming some kind of 'usable' inventory item, kinda like the Black Spider Figurine item, where when you 'used' Boo, a giant space hamster monster would appear and fight for Minsc.)
Sarevok: gotta love a chaotic-evil fighter with a two-handed weapon, a cool voice, and the screen-shaking Deathbringer Assault ability. And I think it was an exciting plot device having the villian from BG1 become a joinable NPC in ToB. Lastly, if I could switch voices with someone, it'd be Sarevok. "I will be the LAST. And you will go first..."
Fantastic. All three.

Why is it that whenever I finally get around to playing a new game for the first time,
I feel like playing Baldur's Gate for the second time...

I thought of that, too. Boo being an actual useable item only staying small and flying back & forth between enemies like the killer rabbit from Monty Python's Holy Grail:laugh:(To the very end, I really thought Boo would end up becoming some kind of 'usable' inventory item, kinda like the Black Spider Figurine item, where when you 'used' Boo, a giant space hamster monster would appear and fight for Minsc.)
