Multiplayer Help

Post by Ignisus »

I went to play in multiplayer but it says that I have at least 1 invalid character in the game name. But I even tried using just the letter "W" alone. But it wouldn't work. Everytime I press "connect" it adds "V1.4" to the game name. Is the period the problem? If so, then how can I get rid of it? If not, then what do you think could be the problem and how can I fix it?

What is the game version of the people you are trying to play with? Are they also playing the 1.4 edition? Not sure what else it might be...

Okay, I was reading it wrong. It said the player name. The player name I was leaving as it was to see if it would work. What was wrong was there was a space. After fixing that, it allowed me to get one step further. But, now it still can't connect to the lobby because it says that the cd-key is unrecognized. I didn't download the game or anything like that, I got it right from the store, no one else has had it so I don't know why it would do that. I checked what I typed and it is correct. DO I have to register or something like that first? I'll check to see if I can register but meanwhile, does anyone have any idea what I'm doing wrong now?

P.S. I wasn't trying to connect to anyone yet. I was just trying to login to the lobby.

I'm sorry I don't know what could be wrong. I play multiplayer over a LAN, which doesn't require any cd key. You probably do need to register...

I hope it gets resolved for you, but the singleplayer campaign is also fun.
