Elanee disappearing from Selection screen?

i've run into a bit of a problem. First, I entered the Flagon to find that Neeshka was "hostile" (ie. attack cursor, and wasn't able to rest or talk to anyone because "enemies in the area")

then, I reconfigure my party and exit the Flagon, to find that only Qara appears with me. So, I re-enter the Flagon, and try again, only to find that Elanee is no longer on the companion selection screen!

any ideas?

Welcome to the board.

What patch are you using?
Are you playing evil?
What chapter are you in?
Is Neeshka still hostile?

To check you companions Influence.
Open the console with the ~ key.
Type: DebugMode 1.
Caps matter.
Then type: rs kr_influence
You will get a dialogue window that is very easy to understand.

should have tried this before I posted, but simply saving and reloading fixes this problem. weeeird :/

Hi just for anyone else who has this problem I had the same thing happen to me and didn't have an earlier dave to fall back on. When I became the captain of crossroad keep though, Elanee could be selected once again. So you can have her back eventually, if you want her, you just have to wait.

Hi all,

I should have joined this topic earlier rather than starting my own (Sorry moderators) so i'll post what was in my topic below, then expand on my problem as it has developed further....

From earlier post:

It came to my attention the other day that between saving a NWN2 game, and loading it a few hours later, that one of my Party members, Elanee, had dissapeared, she was nowhere to be found, either back at the sunken flagon, or at Crossroad keep, and she had also dissapeared from the roster that appears upon leaving either of these locales... I then tried the DebugCommand that adds all standard party members to the roster, so i could them add them into my party, even though im still only in Act II, this also added Ammon Jerro and the Construct to the roster... Yet still no Elanee she just seems to have disappeared from my game, and i have no idea where she's gone...

Anyone have any ideas?

Anyone know how to get her back?

Im using NWN2 patched to 1.04.870 by the way... but she dissapeared when i was using patch 1.03.860...

I now have also tried all the partyadd elanee, rosteradd elanee, rs kr_roster_edit, rs ga_roster_party_add("elanee"), rs ga_roster_spawn("elanee") commands and non of them work either. She just doesn't reappear. I've also tried to find the ROS-Elanee.ros file to add to my savegame, but there's no Elanee related .ros files on my entire system... To some degree i'm guessing this is the problem... It's enfuriating beyond belief as i'm now in Act III and i can't go to the circle of the mere as i need elanee in my party and i really dont want to have to start a new game...

Does anyone have any ideas on how to get her back?

Does anyone have an Act III ELanee ROS file they can send me from a savegame?

This also happened to me right after installing the expansion. I went through the cutscene right before act 2 and she was missing. What was also weird was there was an animal in the party selection screen at the inn. Even more weird is I have a dead body following me everywhere (an unclickable portrait depicting a slain person). Sometimes it goes away but it always comes back.

Anyways this is definitely a bug, I just hope more party members don't start dissapearing.

I'm afraid I'm not that savvy with my computer... is there a simpler way of fixing this? I didn't experience this problem until the most recent patch. Also, I have Sand (with familiar), Elanee (with Animal Companion) and myself (Arcane Trickster w/familiar). Are all the animals overloading things? I happen to be losing Neeshka whenever the game does an autosave. I tried ignoring it, hoping it might fix itself, but then I lost Kelgar too.

I have the most recent updates, and I'm in Act II, playing a good aligned character in the "evil" storyline. I haven't yet purchased MotB.

Those instructions are kind of scattered in that thread, i can try to simplify it for you.

1) You need to find an old save file, from before you lost the character, here is an example of where i found mine:

C:\Documents and Settings\Sam\My Documents\Neverwinter Nights 2\Saves\000006 - Bard save 2

2) Find a file with the character's name on it, for example ROS-neeshka.ros

3) Copy that file into your most recent saved game folder

4) Use cheats to give the character enough experience to catch up (since the character file you grabbed was in and old save, that character will have the same amount of xp as they did whenever that save was created.

To use the cheat:
a) Select a character
b) press the '~' key (it should be above tab)
c) a gray screen will drop down, type 'DebugMode 1' and press enter
d) type 'givexp 4000' (this will give 4000 experience)
e) type 'DebugMode 0', then press '~' again
f) now you're ready to play some more until it happens again!

I've just gotten into act 3 and it's happened to me 3 times. I try to make a point of saving every time I gain a level so i'll have backups.

It seems pets are involved, so if you unsummon familiars or bring people who don't have them you'll see the bug less frequently.
