I am the man who walks alone
His servant isn't there? Thats something that could be a problem. Try again and make sure the servant isn't actually there. Also try and see if you even need the servant to be there. I know there is a bug that sometimes doesn't allow you to levitate in his elevator unless you exhaust dialogue with the servant. However I don't remember if this is necessary after you get horn or before. If that bug doesn't happen then you don't need the servant I think.
My best advice: check again for the servent. He should be somewhere unless you killed him or something..

Edit: also I can't remember if there were patches etc. for the game. Make sure yours is the current standard.

Right Speech has four aspects: 1. Not lying, but speaking the truth, 2. Avoiding rude and coarse words, but using gentle speech beneficial to the listener, 3. Not slandering, but promoting friendliness and unity, 4. Avoiding frivolous speech, but saying only what is appropriate and beneficial.

It would not be possible to kill the servant, the only NPC's it is possible to fight with in Dungeon Lords are hostile ones. (too bad, I always wanted to pick a fight with Sir Nil in the hall of weapons...)
If the servant is not there, and the door will not open to get to the elevator then you are experiencing an odd glitch. Hopefully you have an earlier save to go back to, before you spoke to Emmindor at all. If you do, you could go back to that and deliver the horn all over again. It would not be that bad, as long as you didn't have to do the whole trial again.
Here is a link to other threads with "Emmindor" in them. Perhaps you may find an answer there.

Also, as Claudius mentions, it is a good idea to patch your game if you are playing any version other than 1.4 or the Collector's Edition. Patch info is here:

I know the problem, and it is very....unfortunate. The servant has learning prblems, and his mom never told him try ALWAYS try to open doors before you walk through them.... in some bizarre way the door closed as he tried to walk out, probably just horiibly unlucky timing on your part. and instead of opening the door, he perefers to walk in front of it and stop and heroes from, oh, say, saving the world. Anyways... the problem isn't that there is no servent.... the problem is there is one!
