As for the best armour for evil characters, I might recommend the Dark Plate Armour suit if you're playing the original Fable. As for the TLC version, the Archon Battle Armour suit might be suitable for both evil and good characters, I think.

This information is from the site's walkthrough: For the Dark Plate armour suit, you can get it from merchants at the Arena, Knothole Glade, Hook Coast and at Twinblade's camp. As for the Archon Battle armour suit, you will have to go to the Northern Wastes and look for it at the Necropolis. It's in a silver chest next to the river (requires 25 silver keys.
