Same answer here....
A Good DM is hard to find, but when you do. it is usually worth the wait.
Ours is an architect who has beautiful maps, almost good enough to frame.
amd is so immersed in DnD that he's able to DM with the best of them.

It takes a few different skills to be a good DM. Creativity, flexibility, having a spine, a brain, and the ability to multi-task being the major things. You can learn, and become better, but some people just aren't suited for it. Perhaps you should discuss it with him and work it out so he is a player and one of the players becomes the DM?

"Oh, so I can crate you and hide you in the warehouse at the end of Raiders?"

I would wait and let the guy run a session or two. Be patient. Slow organization does not always necessarily mean he is a bad DM. I have played in a campaign that took a while to get organized but it turned out to ge a good campaign after a couple of sessions. Our DM was a masterful storyteller which is a must for a good DM.

He may be obsolete, you should try patching him with DM 3.0 or No Life operating system 2.75A, maybe even both. Just watch out for the Cheetoh Hog virus, gets them so easy.
