The stolen equipment - Will I get it back?

Post by Xschtar »

Just a quick question,

Been playing through the OC and SoU and just got to HotU. I was practically invincible thanks to my great equipment, like the Holy Avenger, immunity to mind spells, 25 damage reduction to everything, 45 armor class, etc etc. My equipment was great, and the Holy Avenger was awesame. Now I know it's supposed to get stolen, but do I get it back later? Or is there no Holy Avenger in HotU?

Just started HOTU as well. When do we get the equipment back? I only ask so I know whether to invest $$$ in good weapons before I get into it or wait it out.

Just before the end of Chapter 1 - but the equipment in HotU is far better than the majority of the stuff you had stolen :)

Sometimes, everything is there, sometimes it isn't. I actually believe that if the stuff you have in your bags of holding exceeds the pages of inventory you have, the excess stuff and/or bags get dropped. So far, all the BAGS I got back were always empty, their contents in the inventory of the box. All the stuff that I didn't keep in one of the bags was always there.

Thanks. I do miss my dragon armor and my amulet that protected me against the elements though.

I lost my Holy Avenger from SoU the first playthrough. It just wasn't in the stash with the rest of my stuff. Later I removed all my gear except the holy avenger and started the campaign again. This time it was present, so I reckon it's just the matter of available space in the stash.

SPOILER

Nothing beats being able to upgrade your Holy Avenger to +10 and slapping true sight and spell resistance on it :D

That's the reason I'm replaying NWN and Plan to do so with SoU after played HotU. But will return into chapter 2 to upgrade ALL my weapon!:mischief:

And a good reason it is! I'm afraid I'm somewhat of a paladin junkie and that blade floats my boat. Something you may or may not know: applying the fire damage enchantment to the blade will replace the holy glow art. So I made the blade Keen instead iirc.

Yeah I think I now have 3 sets of dragon armor. I found some shortly before I got mine back. What is this "upgrading eguipment" everyone is talking about? Maybe I have not gotten to that point yet. I have just gotten my equipment back and am going to meet the seer.

Spoiler
There's sveral places in the game where you'll get to upgrade your equipment-actually you'll only get to upgrade your weapons-... The first place is when your're done with undermountain and get to the drow city... It's the smith located north of the seer's house. You'll get to add enchantment bonus-all the way up to +10-, elemental damage-fire,cold,lightning and acid(1d6... and remember: only one elemental damage allowed per weapon... you don't even get to replace one type with another)-, you can add "keen"(better crit range), true seeing ability, SR -12 as I remeber- and some other stuff I cant remember! Just be prepared! It's expencive as hell! No matter how much monet you've got, there's allways something to use it on!
Did I just roll 1 on a save vs. death? DANG! *>.<

Thanks. Naturally right after posting I found the smith. Although I do appreciate your help because I actually came here to ask what "keen" meant but you took care of that as well. I went there with over 550,000 gold and now have around 50,000. We'll see if it helped. What I find trully annoying is the fact that the amount merchants are willing to pay for stuff max's out dependant upon where you are at in the game...even the genie who is available at all levels. I now have to carry a bunch of crap with me so I don't undersell it.
