Xarleth - CG Drow Stalker:
Having lived in the fortress of Candlekeep for his short life, Xarleth has been very overprotected and shielded from the world outside. Gorion raised him as best he could to be a good and decent person, though Xarleth has a slightly darker nature that goes deeper than the colour of his skin. Unknown to Gorion, he would often sneak out at night through a secret passage in the castle walls and spend the night-time watching the sea or exploring the nearby area. There is a strong individualist streak in him and Ulraunt oft referred to him as "the feral".
Leaving with his foster-father under mysterious circumstances, he was ambushed in the night and Gorion was killed. Out in the wild with no purpose, he was aware of the reputation of the drow and the danger he was in and so moved silently as a shadow up to the Friendly Arm, where Gorion had intended to go. He was met with hostility and much mutterings and ill-looks and decided to keep a low profile, hood raised and silent. He had no liking for Khalid and Jaheira and told them he did not wish to be burdened by their presence and was half-reluctantly allowed a room for the night by Bentley Mirrorshade, owner of the Inn.
He has since been travelling the wilds of the sword coast, never staying in any one place longer than half a day and avoiding contact with anyone if he could help it, having already experienced his race's negative image on Faerûn. Bandits and ogres and gibberlings have fallen to his bow and now he approaches Nashkel, intrigued by the many rumours he has heard.
(on a sidenote, it's nice when NPCs accidentally make your roleplaying more realistic
