when i first tried ocean house hotel i fell thru the stairs to the floor and i got stuck and ran around in circles (and after an hour with a spooky girl it gets kinda freaky) so i reload it up and i figure "hey why not jump it?" so itry that, doesnt work, load up again and try the basement again but couldn't do it (and 4 times thru the game i have NEVER seen the axeman just the girl) so this time i walk a bit up the stairs then it collapses but im holding the 's' button to go back and theres an invis wall so its stay there forever or fall so i decided to run and jump and to my amazement i have skipped the whole basement scene withen what, 20seconds? oh and you can just come and jump back over it to the ground floor w/o the invis wall... hope everyone finds this as useful as me (im gonna use noclip from now on coz that part freaks me out and im the kinda guy that drools over horror movies but this...) i'ved done that every time so far and it's helped me alot coz the basement part i couldn't do no matter how hard i tried (also on all my runthroughs ive never seen beckett at the pier because a) i always looked down when i was there, dont know why and b) i tried looking there once when i was coming back but he wasnt there... well technically i havent passed the game once since i got the patches and had to start again after hollywood tremere, gangrel hollywood, malk downtown, ventrue downtown, still wanna see the endings and also i havent playhed it for about a week and wanna see *spoiler* caine the cabby again
sorry if anyone read the spoiler but it's kinda obvious it's him if he gives you the options at the end and he helps you alot and would you rather believe a) caine was the god of all vampires and basically had the superhuman powers to lift a building and chuck it as easy an olympic athlete could throw a shotput so he decides to stay in the secluded country or b) he was in his sarcophagus and when you open it on lacroix ending he gets pissed and drains everyone and thing dry c) he was just living normal in his uhhum... job and wanted to just watch what his childe were doing.

the basement part is easy 
when you fall down go down the lit corridor and the girl should run past, follow her.. go through the door and to the right, there's a breakable wall in the corner.. break it.. crawl through.. in the next room read the newspaper and the classic "bunnngggg" sound lol then the door will slowly open.. letting you through to the start again.. again go down the lit corridor instead of going right go left to the laundry room, in the open dryer is the key to the sub basement.. if your facing the dryer go out the exit to the right, then left to the corner through the door in the corner using the key.. go down stairs.. make your way to the end and pull the switch in the chainlink fenceish room.. run backout trying not to get burned.. and go back AGAIN to where u fell down, you should now see the right side is lit up pointing the way to the lift.. and bang ur on the second floor
