When does Handmaiden become a party-member?

Post by Elorian »

Hi everyone,

I left Telos polar region. As it is said in the walkthrough, Handmaiden will come and start a conversation, when the party is leaving the secret academy, and will join the party...but she didn't...

Is this the fact, because I am female? And when exactly does Handmaiden join?

Thanx for your help...

Handmaiden will only join you if your male. If your female you get this guy named Disciple instead, who's worse IMO. If you want to get him quick go to Dantooine right away. Sorry about Handmaiden.

Thats a shame...sorry to hear that...

I really thought, that I could get her - cause of the upcoming force-powers she can use...

Not so many good NPCs in this KotoR for good Characters...

Disciple can be trained as a Jedi too... but he would become a Consular then, and since his WIS/CHA suck he won't be much good at it.

Handmaiden makes such a good fit with the Guardian class that it's often better to just leave her at level 6 until you can train her. Plus, Disciple doesn't give you the WIS-bonus to defense so male Consulars will be stronger than female ones.

That sucks....sorry.

But since I am a Jedi Guardian, maybe it doesn't matter, I need someone in the back to restore my health.
And I have pretty high stats at Char+Wis myself...maybe I can fill in his weaknesses a little bit.

But - thats unfair - that some Characters are just available because of your gender...ok...I can't do anything about that now...

Disciple will do well as a buff-caster but you don't really need those since non-Consulars can do that too. It's a shame really - Consulars should be the ones casting Force Powers on your enemies, not on yourself.

But for him to serve as you need - a main healer and buffer - he'll serve fine.
