The war of Dwarves - Call for players!

Post by Kipi »

I have decided to start new D&D basing RPG game here in GameBanshee.
Everybody who are interested in joining should PM me their character sheet, one character per player only. There is currently room for 6 players, and each character should be based on 3.5 rulebooks DM Guide and Player's Handbook.

The method using to create characters is to throw 4d6, discarding the lowest die, and arranging to skills as seen best by player. Equipments that player has at the beginning must follow the core rules described in Player's Handbook. To determine the ammount of gold to use, use the average ammount.

Character sheets must also contain description of your character (how does she/he looks) as well as background biography.

This game is meant to players who have been playing D&D games before, but totally new players are also welcome. If in need of help in creating character, don't hesitate to contact me via PM, and we shall clear things out together.

There are two ways we can play this game:
1) We decide exact times and days for sessions, and during those sessions EVERYBODY should be online.
2) Players post their actions during timelimit (currently probably one week, may vary during untill winter), after which I post the results, and the players post again their actions and so on. Also, if everybody has posted their actions before the time limit, I will also post the results before that limit.

About the story:
The campaign will start in the underground dwarven kingdom Reghear. Players have been called to help by the king of the kingdom. Each player has arrived by themselves, so they (maybe) don't know each other beforehand.

If interested, contact me via PM.

Yeah, me too. :( I'm running two and in 3 more. :o

Maybe....I could ditch one of the games I am running and we could see about starting this one up if our schedules work out? It would be nice to play side-by-side with Syberis for once. Normally one of us is the DM at all times, the other a player.

I will PM you Kipi. This campaign sounds very interesting. I have one question that might be of general interest to others, so I'll post here. Are there any restrictions to race/class? Obviously a dwaven character would be at home and a drow would probably be a bad idea, but are there any guidelines you have in that regard?

Thanks Kipi

I posted a character last night, looked like the party needed a tank so i added a fighter. Need a little help with a couple details if you (or someone else like Mag or Syb) could take a look see.

Thanks

Ummm... just to make sure things are clear to you...
This game is 100% different from the one in HoL... ;)

And there isn't character thread (yet) for this campaign...

Sorry Kipi, :o

I received a PM from either Mag or Syb that gave me the impression you were going to actually run this campaign over on HoL so I went over there and joined on. Sorry for the confusion. This also explains why the one I posted over there was created with the 4d6 method rather than the point buy system. I can do both campaigns if you are going to run 2 and if you don't mind. The character I created in mind for this campaign was the one I posted unfortunately over on HoL. But I can create a new one for this one. I will watch for a character thread. Looking Forward to both.

Thanks,
Philos

No harm done, so no problems there :) ;)

And good that you are willing to join both campaigns, as I indeed planned to run both of them.

About character thread, I will make one when I have more players, basically when I have enough them to play this campaign...

So, just be patient and wait...

The campaign has been moved to elsewhere, see the link in Sibery's signature (few posts up...)

Though I don't think the campaign will start any time soon, as my schedule is rather intensive... studying and hobbies during days, work during night...

But check more info from the link...

Hi Kipi, I've just been over to The Halls of Levistus where you are going to run this game. I am really new at this stuff (big secret...) so was wondering if I could watch others playing the game? Don't really know what 4d6 is or any of the rulebook stuff, guessing it's a bit like the original D&D rules that I have read about. And that making your character is like the BG route of 'throwing the dice' to get your stats. Want to learn but not far along enough yet to play. When you put it all together, let me know if I can watch if poss. Not a good time for me to learn this aspect of gaming yet, as have essay deadlines and exams after Easter break.
