Computer at the Confession?

Post by IHNIWTR »

Hey there. I've reinstalled Vampire, and as an afterthought began touring the internet for some walkthroughs to find some hidden stuff I've missed out on during my last playthrough. In several of these walkthroughs I've found mentions of a computer at the Confession club. Now, I've never seen a computer at the club, and I've searched it in every direction ( even with the noclip cheat. ) has this been removed from the game, or is it in a hidden or inaccessible place?

there are two PCs at Asylum - is it possible that somebody has confused the two clubs?

(you can only use the PC of the 'absent' twin BTW)

Well....

...I've seen the walkthroughs that mention it as well. They specifically mention the passwords "slave" and "master" (which aren't Terese's or Jeanette's) for the "Confessions Cpu". Still, I've never found a computer there.

I've found something interesting on this subject. In Vampire\vdata\system\hackedterminals there is a confessione3_computer.txt file.

Email password: Slave
Email username: Venus

Emails:

"subject" "Tonight?"
"sender" "Kilpatrick@SMMCmail.vtm"
"body" "I thought we might get together tonight if it pleases you, mistress."

subject" "Re: The Sabbat are here."
"sender" "IAabrams@SMMCmail.vtm"
"body" "It is confirmed. They are located in the subway tunnel off the sewers"

"subject" "The Sabbat are here."
"sender" "IAabrams@SMMCmail.vtm"
"body" "Rumor has it that the Sabbat are infiltrating Los Angeles. I'll get you more information when I can."
Subdirectory: Important
Password: master
Contents:
"description" "Gargoyle Weakness"
"runtext" "The Gargoyle seems to be nearly impervious to firearms. Perhaps a blunt instrument would be more effective.

"description" "Sabbat Gargoyle"
"runtext" "The Sabbat have taken over the old Asian Theater, and placed a Gargoyle to guard it."
So, it looks like there's some more cut content. I don't know who Venus was actually supposed to be, but she's recieving e-mail from Arthur Kilpatrick calling her mistress, and from Isaac Abrams regarding the Sabbat incursion in Hollywood. Apparently, the gargoyle was originally going to be an agent of the Sabbat, but they changed their minds and made it Strauss' rogue pet instead.

And is the entire contents of the file uneditted so you can see where I'm getting this from:
erminalDefinition
{
"screen saver" "Confession" // Bounces around on the screen when the terminal is not being used.
"brackets" "" // these surround the command prompt (2 characters)

"email_password" "slave" // the user must type this to access email from this terminal
"email_username" "venus"

Venus the Vampire

In the demonstration that was made public at (I think) the last E3 before Bloodlines was released there was some material that never occured in the game:

Venus WAS a vampire, and instead of Fat Larry giving her the recommendation that you are willing to do some dirty work, she sent you to him instead, saying he might either set you up for equipment or have a job for you ( I can't remember which).

From all the unfinished material and scenes/concepts/quests tat never made the final game it surprises me greately that they never released any add-ons or bonus material. It looks like they had enough stuff to create at least half of another game just floating around on the cutting room floor.

You are right in that the cut material was left over from the E3 demo and it included other unused stuff like the Pearl of Dubai (I placed the model as an easter egg at Kilpatricks) or the computer file from Isaac (where you were supposed to get it from). But the characters were completely reassigned and the voice for that quest isn't in there so it is not possible to create new content with it.
