Killing the spiders in Beregost
Killing the spiders in Beregost
How did you do it? I have the fighter/druid cast entangle but even with me and Imoen using bows and arrows we can't do it. It is too tight in the house. I have Jaheira and Khalid but they aren't much help.
To Boldly Go...
Try using any scrolls or potions you have. On my first play through I reloaded alot of times, holding onto all my potions and scrolls but you really don't need to save them. I ended up selling them late in the game because they had become obselete.
Edit: Forgot to mention, you're a paladin right? If you have protection from evil in your special abilities, use that on your tanks. I believe it drops their ac so you get hit less.

Only take your thief in. The thief should be hidden. Walk through to the back room. The spiders cannot get in there. Shoot them with arrows from there. You will have to pop out occasionally to lure them towards the door. Go back into the room and shhot them from there.
Alternatively use your cleric. Cast sanctuary to get into the room safely, then kill them as per thief.
Use a similar method with rangers. Hide, go into the room and kill them from there.
This does NOT work with Tutu!!!

I just skipped this quest untill my party was "powerfull" (still thinking in ToB terms I'm afraid
)
But anyways, I've noticed that enemies follow you out so it would probably work on the spiders too. Just lead them out and snipe with an archer. I used this tactic when I was ambushed returning from Cloakwood near dead and out of spells, works like a charm.
Alternatively if you have a high level sorceror just walk in with mirror image on and cast a skull trap close to yourself, the mirror image will absorb the damage the spiders should go down to badly wounded at least. Run out with the mage and rush in with the tanks.

They only follow you out playing Tutu. The method I use is fine for ToSC even if you are only level 1. In Tutu they are much weaker anyway and leading them outside is indeed a good option. Using Tutu I would then try to lead them out one or two at a time and use archers along with a decoy.Jedi_Sauraus wrote:I just skipped this quest untill my party was "powerfull" (still thinking in ToB terms I'm afraid)

SPOILER
The item rewards you get are when you are given the quest. If your Charisma is 18 you are given 6 cure poison potions, so buffing up Charisma is well worthwhile.Grimwald.
