Now i've played through KOTOR2, and KOTOR1 many times. And in the second game you can make your party members jedi or sith. Force users. Can you do that in the first, never tried as of yet. Got conversations going etc with people were it gets far on in the relationship part but never had a chance or option to teach them. Can you?

No, I don't think so. I've tried too, but seems that you can't train anyone on the ways of the Jedi. Sad.
Anyway, I've only played KotOR1 3 times...maybe I've missed something. ;)
Good luck,

Wedge

I've played KOTOR 1 before and from what I have known from reading articles of this game, the influence mechanic wasn't present in there. It's only introduced in the sequel, KOTOR 2. The most you can do in KOTOR 1 is to open up more conversation options as you level up.
''They say truth is the first casualty of war. But who defines what's true? Truth is just a matter of perspective. The duty of every soldier is to protect the innocent, and sometimes that means preserving the lie of good and evil, that war isn't just natural selection played out on a grand scale. The only truth I found is that the world we live in is a giant tinderbox. All it takes...is someone to light the match" - Captain Price

No, its missing in kotor1. The only things that are better in kotor2 are inf system, lightsaber forms and high level cap.

The only way to make your friends in Kotor become Jedi is to cross-level with them. This is cheating however. I believe that there is mention of it at Video Game Cheats - Video Game Reviews - Video Game Codes - Video Game Web Site - GameFAQs. Hope this helps.
