Did you just kill him so his body is still laying there or did you "chunk" him so that he exploded in pieces and nothing was left?

If you chunked him then the items are gone along with him.

One of the dangers of using wand of frost is that you can lose all the goodies.

Meaning no offense, but you did highlight using TAB to see if any goodies were present, right? Sometimes they're difficult to find. ToB added this feature, so if you only have SoA installed, you have to hunt for dropped wealth.

More Help...PLEASE...

Lord Jierdan Firkraag, the red dragon, and this is how I slew him...

So...

I did not bother to talk him and charged him straight away.

1st I use all my spell caster and spam as many elements and monsters as possible, and equip my main character (cavalier/paladin) with all kinds of protection against fire and anti-dragon equipments. Then I send my elementals and monster for soaking the fire breath by Firkraag, and other stunning magics. After doing so, and losing a couple monsters, I send my main character and Anonmen and Minsc(& Boo) charging straight to Firkraag.

After hacking and slashing for 1 minute Minsc(not Boo) got killed, because he doesnt have any fire protection...okay so I send in Aiera(?), the weakling elf mage into combat, I shoot like 5 magic missles and injured Firkraag. Later Anonmen and Viconia spam cast holy strength and that kind of spells on my character. My character now is over charged with protective spells, Firkraag only dealt small amount of damage on my character. So then I also cast curse, vampric touch(failed), doom, miscast...and all that on Firkraag.

After a while all my party member died, accept for my main character, who got over charged by protective spells and magics. And then eventually i ran around in circles and killed the fat ass dragon with 10 hits (dealing 15<x damage each hit!! yeah!!)

And then I revived party members with the rod of resurrection...and do this and that to re-equip everyone...etc.

Okay now I am ready for plunder for the dragon's treasure. I walked all over the dragon like 20 times and I found NOTHING!!!!!

OMG, I swear, I was so pissed...I slew such a powerful being and I got no reward (except the experinces)!?!?!?!?

Right, I dont know what happened I am really angered by this bug, glitch? whatever that is..that made the dragon drop nothing.

man...I cannot obtain the dragon scale or the cromsyer sword thing...damn

also i have problem getting the key to the shadow dragon lair.

Someone help me!!! I really want those epic items!!!

Use shadowkeeper to add the missing items to your inventory. It is a save game editor that is pretty straightforward to use and you can find somewhere to download it by typing shadowkeeper into google.

As far as my experience goes, one can't chunk dragons and certain "boss" monsters. About the items, have you installed any mods on your game? The unmodded original games always drop the items, I've done a few replays so i know :)

Did you rest after killing him? Extended periods of rest time can cause items to disappear.

As for Umar Hills, I'm pretty sure that the only shadow that drops the key is the jailor and you don't need that key to complete the quest.

Additional help plz...

Alright, heres the condition...

no mods, no hacks or cheats whatsoever...

I just simply slew the dragon by my one man army (others died), and it did not drop anything...and that really pissed me off...

I did not rest, I am eager to loot anything it dropped, suprisingly it did not drop anything...caz usually when I kill something important it usually drop something really awesome...even that warden or master thrall from the astral prison dropped something...damn..

I dont know, is it because i didn't bother to talk to the dragon??

I killed Conster outrite with elementals...and then I moved on to the dragon and slew it too...

is it because of the talking trigger thing?? :(

damn i cant send screenshot...i'll show how i slew the dragon if theres a way i can post it...

the loot is not always dropped where you would expect. Make sure that you search the entire area, particularly the centre.

Sometimes loot ends up hidden beneath the body of lots of enemies or huge enemies like dragons so might not be so obvious even when highlighted. If this is the case, rest and the bodies should disappear, leaving the loot behind.

Rain on the parade

from recollection, if an 'enemy' is not hostile and you kill them, I think that the game engine does NOT generate the treasure. I think that at least some enemy creatures only generate the booty once they have been killed when hostile.

I have had this problem myself with an item, where I was very scared of the enemy - instead of cheesing it, I killed it in some cowerdly way and couldn't find what I needed - a key, I think.

try reloading and cheesing it.

wand of frost is bad on enemies, but the very worse it for party members to be turned to stone, then damaged by say a fireball and literally explode, not only being un-raisable, but losing all the equipment they were carrying. how bad is that?

That's a kick in the nads for sure.

Firkraag is the nastiest dragon IMO. The others seem to go down much easier (including the ToB variants). Firky's always spazzing out on me hard core. His movement rate is insane and his attacks are severe and unpredictable (to me at least).

Throw a ton of summons at him. While he's chewing those up, have your mages start chucking Breaches and Lower Resistance(s) at him. Then send in the buffed tanks, supported with more summons.

The most under appreciated item in the game is the Staff of Fire Control. 30 free Lesser Fire Elementals? With no risk of them turning hostile? Summon 5 in same time as it would normally take a caster to generate (and successfully will) just one? And, oh ya...they're immune to fire damage.

Cha-ching! Good luck on the reload(s)

What annoys me is that Firkraag somehow acquired numerous major healing spells. They shouldn't be in his spell repertoire, but he can shoot them off in a second. Likely they were put in just to keep him from dying off too quickly, but I wish something a bit more logical for the situation had been added, instead. Perhaps a statue of healing in his hoard, with X many charges a day?

thx 4 the help, need some suggestion...

yeah thx guyz, i got the stuff...

finally found the loot under the red dragon's body.
:)

but i still have problem opening the door that leads to shadow dragon.
:o

anyway, i made 50,000 gold so far...(after paying the shadow thieves),

and i need some suggestion for party members for defeating that Irenicus guy.

i m thinking of teh following members..

Me(cavalier/paladin), Anonmen(cleric), Minsc(and Boo)(ranger), Jaheria(?)(druid), Viconia(cleric), Aiera(?)(mage), Yoshimo(quest)(ninja), Edwin(?)(conjurer/mage),

I need some suggestion, i dont know who to take and who to leave...

rite 1st i cant remove jaheria or minsc(boo), and i need at least a cleric, anonmen is my 2nd tank so i cant remove him, and i need Viconia for resurrection and healing, and i also need that Yoshimo ninja guy to get some extra exp...

but i need at least a mage to kill that Irenicus guy, but later after killing that Irenicus guy, i need to bash my way through the Sahungin city and underdark...

is it possible to leave the spellhold/asylum and come back and do the quest for underdark and sahungin?

Since we already have plenty of discussion on how to deal with Irenicus and whom to take for the confrontation, please do a search in this forum.

Since this thread's question has been answered, it's closed.
