I cast melfs minute meteors on myself and suddenly i cant attack at all!
I am a wild mage, and i've tried multiple castings to get rid of it but nothing seems to get me to be able to attack again.
on a related note, is there anyway to DISPELL MElfs minute meteors?

Please use the EDIT key beneath your post to include additional information, instead of posting a second time in a row. Thanks.
How many times have you attacked since having cast Melf's Meteors? The spell has to run out before you can start using other weapons, and I just wonder if you've hit the number of attacks required to end the spell, yet.

Well, i wont attack at ALL. i cant fling the Meteors, i just stand there like i'm about to but never actually do anything. i then cast dispel magic on myself to lose the arrows, and again i cant attack, not with sling or dagger, but with my dagger i will run up like i'm ABOUT to attack someone, but again just stand there and do nothing.

Not meaning to insult you, but you know that to use a meteor, you have to target an individual character, correct? Then over time, your PC should fling a meteor. Have you watched during battles to see if it happens? Just to be sure, try clicking the sword icon to initiate battle, and click on a merchant in a store, or a person on the street. See if you start flinging meteors. You can always reload.Dragonosopher wrote:Well, i wont attack at ALL. i cant fling the Meteors, i just stand there like i'm about to but never actually do anything. i then cast dispel magic on myself to lose the arrows, and again i cant attack, not with sling or dagger, but with my dagger i will run up like i'm ABOUT to attack someone, but again just stand there and do nothing.

*sighs* i understand the tendency to call me a noob, but i've had the game for years and this is the first time i've encountered the problem. i have 10 missiles, i know they are a magical weapon, its why i love the spell so much. but when i target, i cant throw ANY of them. i dispelled the effect with dispel magic, they all went away, i still couldn't attack at all. yes, i tried the force attack a merchant trick, i still cant do anything.fable wrote:Not meaning to insult you, but you know that to use a meteor, you have to target an individual character, correct? Not calling you a noob, just not wishing to leave anything potentially out of the equation, however simple, that might provide a solution. I knew a television camera crew once in New York City (this was back in the 1960s) that had a major problem live on air with one of three studio cameras that quit working. They tried everything; nothing worked.Dragonosopher wrote:*sighs* i understand the tendency to call me a noob, but i've had the game for years and this is the first time i've encountered the problem. i have 10 missiles, i know they are a magical weapon, its why i love the spell so much. but when i target, i cant throw ANY of them. i dispelled the effect with dispel magic, they all went away, i still couldn't attack at all. yes, i tried the force attack a merchant trick, i still cant do anything.
One of the technicians finally noticed that an extension cord on the thing, leading to the wall outlet, was unplugged. And this actually happened.
In any case...I would suggest using Shadowkeeper. I can't tell you what's wrong, but you can almost certainly fix the problem with this editor. It should allow to remove the effect that remains in place. You may have to experiment a bit to find the right one, so I suggest making several saves different named as you work with it.
Let us know if that works.

Anyway, i've always played with just patches, i dont know anything about mods and custom stuff. any advice?

Is this a separate matter? Because we have several threads (including some sticky ones) that already discuss mods. Read those first, then ask if you have questions.
Shadowkeeper, which I recommended above, is probably your best recourse to fixing what ails ya. Let me know how it turns out. We have some folks here who are specialists on it, and may be able to give some pointers.
