I know that in the Mortuary I can go back after I get the Stories-Bones-Tell ability and talk to the zombie that was formerly Xachariah. However, I went back and I can't talk to him because he has a red circle around him like he is an enemy and so the special ability and the initiate dialogue options fail. I have no idea why he's showing as an enemy. (He is not attacking me, and I am not attacking him. He just stands there.) Any suggestions, or is this just something I'm going to have to let go?
Never seen anything quite like that. Did you attack one of the other innocent zombies wandering around that level? That's the only thing I can think of offhand that would cause that.
And I do not believe there is any way to remove the red circle or get him to calm down. Sorry

I thought about it but I definitely didn't attack any zombies. Oh, well. I think I'm just going to have to skip talking to Xachariah. Thanks anyway.
