Ok, I just have to say that I thought that mod use was "cheating" and would take away from the game as it was meant to be played. However, I just downloaded Kaghleigh's Retreat and absolutely fell in love with it! I finally have a place to put all those pieces of armor that I had just stored, and all the weapons as well (though not as happy with the glass display cases as I am the mannequins). I downloaded the master index mod since I've found most of the indexes anyway, and just now downloaded a racer mod to keep those pesky things away from me! I was all set to download the Pegasus Horse Ranch mod when I discovered I needed Tribunal. ARGH!!

Anyway, I doubt I'll do much more than these for now, but am glad I finally tried them out! I might try a few quest mods when I start a new character (still playing my level 65 Redguard that I finished the MQ with)

Is there a question I've missed or is this just a statement.

Just a statement to anybody who cares! I was pretty sceptical until I actually tried it - it could help someone who is in the position that I was.

I don't really see why modding could be seen as cheating. You can make cheat mods but they just make the game terrible and are usually made very poorly and lots of them have GMSTs. A cheat mod is the easiest type of mod to make so they are usually made just so someone can get their name up at Planet Elder Scrolls and to get praise. I assure you the praise part usually fails miserably. A mod made by a skilled person such as Kaghleigh's retreat is far from a cheat and just something to make the game much more enjoyable. I would highly reccomend purchasing the expansions Tribunal and Bloodmoon so you can use many more mods you can get them cheap in the GOTY edition.

If you like house mods and you are in house Telvanni or planning to join I would reccomend and appreciate it if you would have a look at my thread on my Tel Uvirith expansion. There's a link in my signature.

Mods can indeed add a great deal to the game, but I think we already have a "mod appreciation" thread in the forum. Feel free to search for and contribute to it, since the site owner doesn't want duplicative threads. (He says they slow the forum down.) You can also find sticky threads about mods at the top of the page (naturally enough), including one that only includes recommendations from users.

Finally, if you have questions regarding a specific mod or mods, check to see if there's a thread, first; and if there isn't, start one up.

This thread is closed.

EDIT: I used Kahleigh's Retreat for years: nice house mod. :D
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.
