Leveling help

Post by Dredd Pirate »

So, I'm on my second character now, and I've decided to concentrate on trying to max out my attributes...But I'm unclear on some things. I gather that there is no limit to how many levels you can reach (up to 255), as long as you don't max your skills out. Up until now, I've been working my minor skills, for the maximum level bonus (+15 to attributes). I'm about level 14, and it's getting to be slow going. Basically what I want to know, is can I spend a couple of levels just levelling my major skills, to make things more difficult, and open up some quests, and still not worry about reaching any sort of "cap" before I can max my attributes? Thanks for the info....and, one more thing. I get 10 major skill advances per level, right? Thanks again.

Even after you max your skills out you can still level up, but it's a bit tedious; you have to get thrown in jail enough times to lower some combination of your major skills by 10 points so you can level up again. Rinse and repeat.

If you choose and manage your majors carefully you can get to level 52 before you have to start using the jail trick.

If you brutally min/max your attributes, you can have 100 in every attribute except Luck by level 29. However, since you can only get +1 in Luck it takes you 50 levels to get it to 100 (40 levels for Thief birthsign), which means you would then need to get to level 79 (69 for Thief birthsign) to get Luck up to 100. If you "waste" an attribute increase on Luck at every level, you can have 100 in every attribute including luck by level 51.

So if you don't care about Luck, you can comfortably spend a few levels working on major skills and still be able to max out your other 7 attributes before you hit any kind of level "cap". However, if you do care about luck you almost have to take the Thief birthsign. Otherwise you can only afford to get less than +5/+5/+1 on a single level or else you'll be forced to use the jail trick to level up beyond 52 to get all of your attributes to 100.

Correct.
Can the answer to this question be "No"?
