A Wish List

Post by dragon wench »

I suspect we have had threads like this here in the past, but I just checked back a year in this forum and didn't really see anything. Also, seeing as this sort of a topic, by it's very nature, is going to be constantly changing revamping it does not seem too terrible ;)

Anyway, it occurs to me that I actually have quite a few games on my wish list, assuming (for some of them) that I am able to upgrade my computer in the not so distant future. Some are old, some are new, some are upcoming.

They are:

*Fallout 1 and 2
*The Longest Journey (I gather it has been re-released and I never played it the first time)
*Dreamfall: The Longest Journey
*Vampire TM - Bloodlines
*Vampire TM - Redemption
*The Broken Hourglass
*Age of Decadence

And maybe, depending on (hopefully) objective reviews...
*Hellgate: London
*Dragon Age
*LOTR Online
*Two Worlds

Over to you!

You don't know what you have missed! :D
More seriously, I really recommend getting these game ASAP, as you may even have someproblems with them after upgrading computer... ;)

And about The Longest Journey...
Wasn't it published several years ago? And wasn't it something about travelling in time, and you had to take a form of person suited to that time by using some kind of suit?

Maybe we are talking about different game, though...

My wishlist:
 • Baldur's Gate 1
 • The Broken Hourglass
 • Planescape: Torment
I don't have much time in my hands currently, so I would be satisfied if I even manage to get and play even those three games...

I love this type of thread too much. These games don't have to be new, they don't even have to be good. But I'd sure like to play em, mostly as they're part of a series. Few more weeks of work and I think I'll upgrade PC.

Pretty mainstream by the looks of it =/

gief!

Out:
The Battle For Middle Earth 2: Rise Of The Witchking
Elder Scrolls 4: Shivering Isles
Gothic 3
Neverwinter Nights 2

Oldies:
Diablo 1: Hellfire
Disciples 1

Upcoming:
Heroes Of Might And Magic 5: Tribes Of The East

PS: Is it allowed to start an epeen thread with all the games played and requesting advice from others? :D

My list would look like this (And I'll probably get them all, once I upgrade my computer):

Neverwinter Nights 2
Gothic 3
Arcanum of steamworks and magick obscura (The game I have doesn't seem to work very well when I hit a certain point in the game)

Possibly The Elderscrolls IV: Oblivion as well.

At the moment it will be a long time until I can afford an upgrade so the only game I want is Arcanum, but its a nightmare trying to track down a reasonably priced copy of the game - on ebay and amazon they cost more than some newer games

Hence why I have every intention of keeping my old computer once I upgrade. ;) Also, once I'm actually able to consider upgrading, I'm leaning very strongly toward getting a Mac and installing either Boot Camp or Parallels on it along with XP. I just don't like the looks of Vista...

Here is the Official site for The Longest Journey. It's actually in the Adventure category as opposed to being an RPG.

You haven't played Planescape Torment yet? You don't know what you've missed! :D :mischief:

You know, if you are having trouble getting something delivered to the UK you could also consider asking somebody over on this side of the pond to order it and then send it over to you, I did that once with something and it worked well.

You're welcome, I've been eying that game up myself for quite some time.

Games on my wish list:

Current games:
- Heroes of Might and Magic V and it's expansions

Upcoming games:
- The Witcher
- Fable 2

That's pretty much it on the RPG side. Not looking forward to other RPGs since none of them are my cup of tea. I can list the others but they're mostly action-oriented games, FPS and RTS.

It wasn't about travelling through time. It was more like teleporting to an alternate world, Arcadia. Quite a good adventure game if you ask me. Played it back in 2001 and I thouroughly enjoyed it. As for the sequel, Dreamfall, the story's still good but the controls are terrible on the PC version. Very poor port job if you ask me (ported from the XBox).

Currently, the only game for the PC on my wishlist would the Witcher. I have been following that one since I heard about it, and am really looking forward to it. Besides that, not much else.

Don't waste your money on Dreamfall unless you enjoy cutscenes. It is two-third cutscenes and one-third mediocre "adventuring". Not even close to the prequel.

I am waiting for the Witcher, though I don't have time to play lately and actually have a couple of unpacked games on my shelf.

Just a couple of more games to add to my list that I had forgotten about:
Wizardry 8
KOTR (1)

*sigh* Thanks for the warning. Though, I wouldn't be getting Dreamfall any time soon as it is, my comp wouldn't really be able to handle it. I will be ordering the first game in the series this morning though.

I bought my Arcanum game, brand new, from an eBay store/seller from France about a year ago. The add mentioned only the French version of the game, but I sent an email to the seller to ask if they also had the English version, and they did! :) I paid only 3 euros plus shipping. So it might be worth it to check the French eBay sellers and the Amazon.fr resellers and ask them. Right now, the French version of Arcanum is 5 euros on Amazon.fr.

As for my wishlist, I am finally up to date with my purchases (but still have over 20 games sitting on the shelf) so I am waiting for the newer games to get less pricy and for the gold, platinum, diamond, etc. editions to come out.

I know, I know... :o

But do you know how hard it is to find some specific older games around here? For example P:T, I have seen it on sale maybe two times in last year and half, the only times I didn't have enough money buy it... :(

And I'm not too interested in ordering it from online, for various reasons...

Oh, and some additions to the list:
 • Diablo 1 - I know it's sold around here still, so perhaps next time I'm visiting the town I should buy it...
 • Worms: Armageddon - Pretty hard to find, but I know it pops up at times in few stores...
 • NWN 1 epxansions
