Vivec schmivec
I think if the game were city oriented (like the first half of Baldur's Gate two) Vivec would be fine. It's big, diverse and there's some rhyme and reason to the layout.
For the occasional quests to go get 'blah blah', or talk to 'so and so', who's in the temple, it's a pain.
The bridge to the Foreign quarter and the gondolla dock are on the other side of the building from the entrances to the quarter. Also, Isn't if confusing that each quarter has a slightly different layout? It's imaginative, but not necessarily.easy to navigate.

I voted for other, mainly because I like Dagon Fel the most out of every town in the game. That's if you can call Dagon Fel a town, it might constitute as a village, but I like it so much I'm willing to give it honourable town status. I think I like it the most simply because it is open, and reminds me the most (next to Ebonheart) of a typical medieval - fantasy town.
From "Feet of Clay" By Terry Pratchett:
"It seemed to be a chronic disease. It was as if even the most intelligent person had this little blank spot in their heads where someone had written: "Kings. What a good idea." Whoever had created humanity had left in a major design flaw. It was its tendency to bend at the knees.

I think they did it on purpose. If you're confused the city seems that much larger and that's the effect they were probably going for.Originally posted by baileyatbrats

Well, i dont have a favorite but Mournhold, Ebonhart,Caldera and Palegoid are really good. Vivec is alright. If only you caould make your own cities/towns. I heard you can do it on the PC but ive got it for X-Box so thats my only real disipoinment. I know the perfect place to have town. South/east of bolmora. Around the canyon area were the lost ebony mine is. Ya that would be a cool spot. Ya??? Oh and theres a quiant little spot just north of khuul, with a nice cot rolled out under a tree by a nice waterfall. that place is pretty cool. what do you guys think?

I also really like Vos, probably because I find the Grazelands landscape an attractive combination with the Telvanni mushrooms

Well....uhhhh..... I chose Vivec, but that's probably because I've got a few mods running on it (modified interiors, market stalls in the streets, a bit larger population, etc.). In unmodded boringness, I'd probably pick Sadrith Mora, because while I enjoy the hustle and bustle of a big city, being able to disappear into a crowd, and having 9 out of 10 people like me since I'm in the Temple, all the cantons are designed exactly the same to begin with
Besides, I always just thought it was sweet to say "Hey, look at me; I'm living inside a magic mushroom"

Get up, stand up. Come on, throw your hands up.

If you want like beautiful towns get Tamriel rebuilt. The work that goes into it is amazing. I had to load up Stonefalls for an interior I was working on. It was beautiful.

I picked Balmora, because it reminds me of my own hometown (small, county seat, short buildings). I also really like Sadrith Mora and Vivec for their large buildings. If I could live anywhere in Morrowind, though, it would be Castle Karstaag.

Ald'Ruhn vs Balmora
I voted for Ald' Ruhn initially because. it's a one-stop-shop. LOL ! .
Sloppy, sloppy I admit, I remember reading a walkthrough before I played (don't usually do that) and the writer was so great; talked about the sheer excitement of Balmora after Sayded Neem [forgive spelling...]. I really like a walkthrough/strategy expert who has a flair for expression, draws you in , writes you a story, gives you a sense that you too can be formative in the creation of a legend...And so, big town, Balmora [after due consideration]gets my vote, and of course my best bud, Sugar ,is there. Fact is, I just go back to Balmora to revisit my 'ancestral pile' where I stashed all my goodies.

It's Balmora for me. Ever since I dropped in from Seyda Neen, I knew it was my first town. Seyda Neen is home... for a while. You miss is so bad for the first couple of trips out. Then... well, you realize it only has one merchant. And he ain't got a whole lotta gold.
Why Balmora? Hmm. Can't say. The shape of the buildings, the type of town... I think Julan Kaushibael said it best: "You can tell this is a Commona Tong town. I think I just saw a body in th river." Really, it's alot friendlier then that. It's your first real town, you know? Not to mention you start the main quest there... everything starts there.
