Someone said a bug ridden game?
Someone said a bug ridden game?
I really ain't is this bug or something else but I have installed every single patch I could find from the internet, tried opening the game after every patch install but always the screen goes black and back to da desktop. Is this a bug or (don't say so) the game isnt compatible with mah comp...
It took me awhile to work this out but if you want to get it to work with the minimum of problems, I'd suggest doing the following: (I got these from the Circle of 8 mod forums)]
1. Install the game
2. Install patch 1
3. Install patch 2
4. Download ToEE Front End and place it in the ToEE directory
5. Download Co8 mod version 5 and install
6. Run ToEE Front End from the ToEE directory]
7. Select the Co8 mod and then click play. After the game has loaded, exit the game again.
8. Download the latest Co8 patch and install
9. Play the game by running ToEE Front End
The Co8 mod fixes the majority of the bugs, and all major bugs, and also adds new quests and better AI. Its important not to install patch 3 as this has been known to cause problems with the game for some users.
If after doing all of this, it still won't work, then list your system specs here and I'll try to figure out what could be going wrong

You're experiencing the looting bug. This is solved either by atari patch 3 (not recommended because the next option is better) or temple.zip applied on top of atari's patch 2. There's a sticky thread about patches that tells you everything you need to know.Warggoath wrote:after 30min of clicking I lost my nerves and decided to ask here :S
If you've tried to patch it and you're still having this problem, odds are you didn't succeed in patching it correctly. We'll need further details on what you did. The guys at co8.org might be able to help even more.

well, I can loot after I enter to combat mode and that is not a big problem...Lord Plothos wrote:You're experiencing the looting bug. Yeah, up to you. But there are a number of other things fixed by these patches. For example, a fatal crash late in the game where an enemy has a potion the game has no definitions for, meaning if he drinks it you get a crash.
