Dream House

Post by superbob263 »

I have just read the book Eldest and I keep going back to the part about singing to the trees to make them grow into any kind of shape for a house you want. This got me thinking about what my dream house/land would be like and where it would be located.

My Dream house would be circular no right angles or anything like that. Second it would be made almost entirly out of glass and oak wood becuase they both look so cool totgather. Since there would be so much glass I would be able to see someone coming from anyside of the house. Thw location would be somewhere in the rocky mountans probobly on top of a small bluff or something so that when the sun hit it you would be able to see the shining glare from along way off. To top it all off the whole house would have surround sound bilt in and about twenty tvs all linked to the same thing with the highest internet speed avaloble at the time.
Well thats my dream home what would yours be like.

lots of trap doors stuff like that, also on an island that has every type of landscape condensed into a small area. Uses nature(carved out rock, bridges in the tree tops etc. )
You're in your car traveling at the speed of light, you turn your lights on, do they work?

Dream house? Lots of SECRET ROOMS and PASSAGES. :D
The problem is that the people with the most ridiculous ideas are always the people who are most certain of them.

Neuschwanstein Castle is very nice, fell in love with it when I was there. :)
But since I've already have a house in the location I love, deep in the forest, and it is a vacation home plan, I'm fairly well satisfied....
But if money were no object, would have a tree house, with rope walkways stretching from tree to tree. Deep forest feel..Have seen some nice ones in an old mag a few years back, cannot remember exactly, but was tree houses for adults.

Yes, hate to admit it, but have always like the look of these type of abodes,
like a cross between the Star Wars type ones and the ones I saw in the old mag.

I suppose if psychoanalysis can be conducted here, the desire to have many secret rooms and passages in a tree house may indicate that you guys have dreadful secrets to hide, or your nanny tortured you, or you have a suppressed memory, or something is wrong with your libido, or all of the above. :D

Not secret passages or rooms, just a house up in the treetops , an old forest growth, you know the kind with Ent like trees, huge with the house intertwined in the various branches....
now as for secret rooms, if I told you that, they wouldn't be secret anymore.

Dream house, eh? Hmm, I really would like to live in an underground bunker tough enough to withstand a nuclear explosion and bunker-buster bombs. Not only that but this bunker will also be armed to the teeth with all sorts of armaments enough to repel a full-scale invasion and security so tight that not even the famed Sam Fisher of the Splinter Cell series could even infiltrate it. :D
''They say truth is the first casualty of war. But who defines what's true? Truth is just a matter of perspective. The duty of every soldier is to protect the innocent, and sometimes that means preserving the lie of good and evil, that war isn't just natural selection played out on a grand scale. The only truth I found is that the world we live in is a giant tinderbox. All it takes...is someone to light the match" - Captain Price

A dream house? A dream house for me would be a house big enought for me to live in. A regal house made of brick would be perfectily fine. Not too big, nor too small. Preferably not in a big town, rather a small comunity.

My dream house is located far from civilization, next to a peaceful lake. It would be small and with the magic ability to clean itself, so I never have to do housework. It must have a spacious yard, and then further out be surrounded by trees. It must have high speed internet so I can be connected to the world in the way I like best, from a distance.

I guess the magic housecleaning part is out of the question, but hey...the thread is about a "Dream House". For psychoanalytic purposes, I freely admit to being a lazy housekeeper with reclusive tendencies. :)

ELDEST IS AN AWESOME BOOK

ok on to my dream house

i would want a castle, complete with secret passages, stone walls with torches for light, and enough space to never learn your way around. that place would be perfect. i would be happy just to be able to visit there for a day. oh and a 2-way teleport to and from my girlfriend's house :D

My dream vacation house is a bungalow on the tiny tropical island. Something called "the tropical retreat", when you are watching sunset with martini in hand and soft music blends with the soothing sound of the ocean waves lapping against the shore. No neighbors, junk mail, tourists or fast food joints. Just me and my family; well-stocked pantry and cellar; a library; two-three computers; nice weather; white sand; all sharks migrated to Florida; bug-free because all bugs caught some buggy bug and died, and so did all snakes; lots of flowers; ancient ruins to explore, and did I mention that all bugs and snakes died?
Oh, and the island belongs to me.

Edit: OK, lady bugs survived.
