I've decided to create a new party
and I came up with the following:

Yoshimo - dualclass to fighter and let him wear 2 katanas
Edwin - !!! mage
Korgan - fighter
viconia - cleric
main - some fighter and dual class to mage
6:th npc - ???

Have been thinking and thinking but I cant
find out who that will be my last NPC
and what weapons they shall have...

can I increase Yoshimos weap. prof. to more
than 2 slots after that I dualclassed him to
a fighter

You've just got to add Jaheira.......a party without Jaheira isn't a partiiiee at all.......

Since your party is all neutral or evil you probably want to go with Jahiera or Haer'dalis (or Cernd) to prevent conflicts. Valygar will be unhappy, but I have yet to hear of him fighting with anyone so he could work as long as you don't get so evil he becomes fallen. Stay away from Minsc and Keldorn.

Yes, you should be able to increase his proficiencies once he duals to fighter.

i suggest the addition of a non-waverly-esque NPC, as they are far too critical....

From what i see you don't have a thief..if you dual Yoshimo to a fighter then you will be without a thief for a very long time. Go with Jan.

You may need a thief, as Yoshimo cannot use his thief's skill untill his fighter's level reach high enough.

Flail of Ages and Celestial Fury are among the best weapons in the game and you can get early on.

Lilacor and Daystar are also good and easily obtained. Flame Toungue is nice because it is +4 against undead and one of the few pre-underdark weapons that can hurt Gaxx.

If you use Jahiera you'll want to get her spear skills up for when you get Impaler. Until then she can use (or abuse if you want) the Spear of Kuldahar.

For your F/M go with at least a couple points of Katana and use Dakkon's Zerth Blade in your off-hand or go with Staff and get the Staff of the Magi.

Browse the weapon listings in the equipment section for more info.

IMO I never really cared for the Equalizer I usually dual wielded with celestial fury and either Adjatha the drinker or the flametongue.

The Ultimate Party would be:

Anomen - excellent fighter/cleric
Minsc - kicks ass
Keldorn- defender of the thruth
Jaheira- Cooooool
Jan - Brilliant mage/thief
I'll kick ass in BG2.

About your party. It's almost identical to mine. (Kensai(/Mage), Korgan, Viconia, Edwin, Jan, ?)

I asked the same question and I must say, putting Minsc in your party for a while would be really cool. Great interaction with Edwin and Jan. When finally they start to fight, load a quick save, dump Minsc and get another NPC. Just use every NPC for the sixth spot. You will not get the best party ever, but you will get the best game! Enjoy!

You need at least one of the goody goody npc's to make fun of while you go about your quests. When things finally get out of hand just kill it and pick up a new one.
