Hello, New to Morrowind

Post by Enchantra »

Hi I have just started playing morrowind and I have a few questions.
I am exploring seyda neen and wandering around killing crabs and stuff...and I had to rest. I decided I needed to rest and when I woke up there was a dead guy lying near me. I was like what the??? Did I do that? I dont know. Do I rob this fellow?

Hmm anyway Any other helpful tips early in the game would also be helpful. Thanks, E

Not going to give specifics:..check the walkthrough here at GB..
but here are few hints....2 possible solutions in your case...one involves some gossip you can probably pick up in town, the other just kind of falls into your lap, so to speak. :D

Thanks...I have to admit I haven't really spoken to many people in town just fargoth. I should start talking more notice to these little things. Most npc's in the games I have played don't do much and the ones that do are so clearly outlined you can go straight to them.
Also I have tried to bribe a few people but I don't have much gold. Any ideas on how to get them to losen up or is what they say not all that important?

At the beginning, I don't suggest to try to bribe everybody who you meet, as like you said you don't have much gold to do that.

But even though you don't succeed in bribing someone that doesn't mean they don't have something important or interesting to tell you. You just may have too low skill for bribing them (sorry, can't remember which skill was related to bribing... :o ).

The fact why I liked in Morrowind especially was because you can't be sure if the NPC you meet have something important to tell you or not. You just have to talk to them to find out.

Enchantra, try using our Search function on such words as new, newbie, and hints. There are several threads in the forum with ideas for what to do when you first arrive in the game. Enjoy. :)

I have another question, I have tried to look for this everywhere. I dont like to use my mouse to direct my character. I went into the controls section of the game to change it but I cannot seem to find which one relates to the directions of the character. I want to make the left and right arrow keys direct my character to look left and right therefore walk left and right. At the moment they just shift left and right...does that make any sense?

|There is tick box to do with strafing under the mouse tab. Change that.

We're back to searches on threads containing all the basics, and plenty of opinions. Go for it: then, if you have a specific question and can't find the answer via search or our walkthrough, feel free to ask it in a thread of its own. And good luck with the game! :) This thread, though, is closed.
