Problem with Candlekeep (ch. 6) possible bug. "Spoiler"

I am trying to reach the Candlekeep catacombs, but I just can't. I simply won´t get arrested. I tried to accept Savaroks ring, I tried to refuse it, I tried to kill Rieltar, as well as letting him live. The gatewarden at level 6 says he can´t talk to me at the moment, however he has got a message for me. I should go to speak with 'an unusual fellow at the outer grounds'? Who the hell could that be? I tried to leave the library, I even rested at the inn, but no result. Does anyone recognize this problem?
Also, whenever I enter the library the entrance movie repeats itself over and over again, it stops finally when I reach the second level. Don´t know if there is any relationsship between this movie 'bug' and the fact that I am stuck? Reinstalling the game doesn´t help solving the movie 'bug', I already tried that.
I tried the walkthroughs (which I never used before, it just spoils the fun), but it doesn't seem they did anything different from me. I was wondering about one thing. Because of the annoying movie repeat (every two seconds or so), I haven´t explored the first level completly. Is it possible I have missed something there?

All help is more than welcome. I spent so many hours playing this game... I hope someone has a clue.

Have you found the prophecies by Alaundo on the bookshelves on the bottom level of the library?

Also, have you spoken to the priests etc. on that level, who mention Koveras?

Not sure if these are necessary, but its worth a try.

You might also need to leave the library again. That has been necessary for me more than once, but I haven't figured out why yet. A guard will accost you outside.
Speaking to Koveras is a must! I think that you need to be told where your room is also, though I am not sure about that. Do not use stealth and everyone that you need to speak to will do so without too many problems. It is not necessary to read all the scrolls.
If all else fails you could try killing Ulraunt and the Gatewarden. You need a lot of patience with Ulraunt! Not advisable if you can avoid it because of the reputation hit! The rewards are not that great.
