Slayers and Flayers (possible spoiler)

Hi!

I have managed to wander into the Mind Flayer dungeon (from the Underdark). I have been pretty much through the whole think, with just the final "brain room" to complete.

As far as I can tell, the only way I can actually get the door open is to "do the change" and become the slayer...

For role-playing reasons, I had been planning to deny my inner self and never do the transformation. Now I am wondering if my plan is possible. Can I get out of here without transforming? Or complete the rest of the game without transforming?

If there is a way to go without transforming (or a way to complete the game, for that matter) please don't tell me hom to do it - just let me know if it is possible or now so I know if I should keep trying.....

If u use the control circlet on a Mind Flayer, he can open the door for u!
